2001 Z06 - murdered out with a 402 stroker

Worked on this gorgeous example of what GM is actually capable of when they pull their heads out of their tails. This particular example has quite a few mods, all tasteful and well executed. For me, the sheer stealthiness of matte black w/gloss black lip CCWs, smoked lenses, and carbon fiber touches made it attractive, but for many the angry devil under the hood which is a fully forged/stroked 402 that sounded every bit as angry as this car looks superseded. This car was in exceptional condition. One of those cars when you get there the paint is already at 85% and you are aiming at that century mark. There was some swirling, hologramming from some repainted panels, pigtails from PC use, and many R.I.D.S. on horizontal panels. To further prove how difficult, this job took me the better part of 8 hours for the exterior only, no washing, and minimal breaks. Sorry about the lack of outside pictures, the weather was horrendous (pouring, thunder, lightning all day). The one outside shot was during a break from the weather and didn't even come out that great. My finals were:

-S+W to clean
-Zaino Z18 Clay with S+W as lube (mainly on lower panels and tail)

-Meguiar's #105 via rotary and LC Purple Foamed Wool @ 1300rpm (roof and trunk lid)
-Meguiar's #105 via rotary and LC Green German Polishing @ 1300rpm (entire car)
-Zaino Z-PC via PC and LC Red Finishing @ 6
-Zaino Z-PC via terry applicator, by hand on wheel lips
-Zaino Z-PC via #0000 Steel Wool on exhaust tips

-Zaino Z16 on tires
-CG VRP cut 2:1 in wells

-Zaino Clear Seal on wheels
-Zaino Z5 Pro (ZFX'd) on paint, glass
-Zaino Z8 final wipe down

Befores

Afters

Cheers.

Nice work, Sean. Absolutely beautiful in the afters.

I hear ya on the C5s, took me about as long start to finish on a black C5 convertible to do the outside only. Hard, hard paint.

Those pics are slightly better than internet porn. Maybe when GM fails, and I think it's a forgone conclusion at some point they will, someone will buy the corvette name and continue to produce it. That is one hell of a ride, and is dripping wet. Just Z5pro with z8 hey? Nice

Fantastic job. That hood is incredible. By far one of the coolest I've seen for the Vette.

Re: 2001 Z06 - murdered out with a 402 stroker

I would just like to say it was a pleasure to meet you Sean, He did a Fantastic Job on my car Unbelievable. there were some defects on there that were bothering me so much especially Fish tails that Sean explained to me what they were and how they got there. Now I'm completely happy That outside pic does no justice to his work as soon as we pulled it out it was so wet out the whole car looked matte black from moisture. oh and for the guys that had the comments about lowering it and not liking the black out kit, well Pfadt coil overs will be installed in the spring if you must know, for the black out kit well that's your preference. i just wanted to say those two remarks had nothing to do with the awesome job Sean did on my PAINT!! Sean thanks again you have a customer for life.
