2001 Honda S2000, black over silver
2001 Honda S2000. Interesting paint scheme. Silver with black laid over the horizontal surfaces. Looked really good in the shade, as they all do. In the sun, not so much.
Just for giggles, I tried Optimum Polish (new version) via PC using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad-which left some hazing but the camera didn't pick it up well:
Same pad and combo via rotary @ 1200-1400 rpm-better and no hazing:
Obviously, this was not Honda black. Stepped up to Meguiars #105 using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad at 1200 rpm.
1 pass with #105
3rd pass with #105
Good progress. As you can see, I had taped off the hood for a few side by side shots.
I then followed with Optimum Compound using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad @ 1200-1500 rpm, then 3M Ultrafina using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad at 1000-1800-1000 rpms.
Same process on the other side, then went over the whole hood again with Ultrafina, this time using the blue Ultrafina pad, again @ 1000-1800-1000 rpms.
Satisfied with the hood, the owner turned the car around and I got started on the trunk lid.
4 passes with the #105/Meguiars yellow pad combo at 1200-1400 rpms later...
Then Ultrafina/yellow
Finished with Ultrafina/blue

Awesome job Scotto!
I have a question. I know you use a lot of Clearkote stuff. How do you like the Clearkote's Carnauba Moose as opposed to a "wet" nuba? I've never used Nuba Moose but every car you do looks damn good with it..

Not sure what you mean by "wet" carnauba. I like CMW because it makes black paint look SO black and still looks good on every other color, including metallics.

Love the new version of OPP, nice clean scent, slightly thicker so it stays where I pour it on the applicator. The new version of OP works very well on harder paints, definitely more cut than the original. I believe a slightly milder polish is being formulated for softer paints.

Nice work Scott, that paint scheme doesn't look bad.
