Heres some backround info. I had the truck painted, there was some orange peel. Painter wetsanded the truck......thats where the problems started. First time I go and pick up the truck it is heavily swirled and you could see some wetsanding marks. Painter takes back and "fixes" it. Well I get it back and while the swirls arent nearly as bad as before there are still tons of them and the paint is fawked up. Im NOT taking it back again because im not going to play this game and I dont feel like dealing with him anymore. Here are some quick shots I took before I left for school today.
Sun was out, so I grabbed a few pics to show what im working with here. Ill be doing before and after shots.
I will be giving it a shot this weekend. I have buffed cars before and my weapon will be my Dewalt 849. So I am going to buff the truck with that and a black 3m eggcrate pad since thats what I was also reccomended by someone else. Afterwards I will hand polish the whole truck. Ill hafto wait for wax I guess since the paint is only 1 month old.
A guy down the road from me has a very simular truck but in a dark blue color i think it looks pretty nice.
It appears that the truck as a pretty good amount of swirls but also looks like holograms are very apparent. I've found that halograms are very easy to correct its the RIDS that become a pain.
Good Luck, can't wait to see the results, keep us posted.
