Thanks charlesferg! = As soon as our house is sold, we are moving to Portland.!!!!

1 - yes that was QD/clay residue. After correcting the paint on the roof and Ez
Creme Glaze I started on the drivers side and after I finished the side, I had to take a couple of pictures of the reflection.
2 - the one imperfection that I found on the car was on the roof - can't think of the name for it, but it is a tiny dot, still there obviously ( that the dealership must have tried to rub out)
I first used the pc and poli seal with an orange pad but didn't do anything so i just used the makita. One quick pass corrected it.
Next I took a brand new 3m black pad and applied
Ez Creme Glaze on speed 6. This glaze dissapears into the paint and leaves a glossy finish. Wiped the paint off with a brand new MF towel
Step 2 was Extreme Top Coat on another brand new black 3M pad, again on speed 6 and worked it in until clear/gone. Wiped off what ever left on the paint with another new towel
Last step was the wax and again the very same process as above.
The car itself didn't really need any claying except for this white residue that I found here and there. Polishing didin't touch it. The few spots that were on plastic, goo gone took care of.
Both the owner and myself were very satisfied with the outcome and he was amazed at how much I was able to improve the look. After all the car looked great just after a wash being that it is so new.
I used a MF applicator with Opti Seal on the wheels.
Used S&G on the windows
That is all I did.
Took me 5 hours.

Man, I like that new Audi - it's the only one I really, really enjoy looking at. Hopefully drive one eventually.
Could you elaborate on what you did, besides the spot on the roof with the orange pad & SIP?
Was this just a wash & spot clay or more than that?
Looks great, regardless.
One of my favorite things is prepping a new car that the owner already admires as absolutely perfect, and make it ten times better. Great feeling on your own just looking at it, even better when the owner finds out what you've done.
PS... Clay/QD residue on the center of the hood? |
