Hacked up Jag meets 1Z and Dodo...

Every once in a while, you run across a car that you just feel sorry for. This '99 XK8 was repainted 2 years ago, at a reputable shop, due to some deep scratches it had received from a cat that jumped on, and slid across it. The paint job looked pretty good, but you had to look pretty hard through the myriad of buffer trails to see the paint.

The process was 1Z Intensive Paste on an Orange LC pad, followed by 1Z High Gloss on a White LC pad, and finished with Ultrafina on a Grey/Black LC pad. I then foamed the car with Duragloss 901 to remove the polish dust, and dried it off.

For protection, it was given a coat of Dodo Supernatural, and topped with Dodo Blue Velvet.

Check out the holigrams...

and more...

yeah, on the side panels too (I don't think they missed a panel),,,

I pulled it out into the sun after polishing half the trunk lid with 1Z IP, just to see what effect it had on the holiggrams. It knocked them out, but left some marring...

Here is a half and half shot, again, I know there is marring here...this was only after the IP and Orange pad...

This is the uncorrected side (obviously) in the sun - someone at the shop has some buffer "skills"...sheesh...

This is a reflection shot of the rear of the car after polishing...no wax is on it...

The interior received a vacuuming, woolite/water on the leather seats, and a Quik Interior Dressing wipe down. A couple of spots on the carpet were spot treated. Nothing major here...these are afters...

I vacuumed out the trunk, and removed the floor pan (befores)...

The wheel was wiped down with QEW/water mix, and the tire was dressed with 303. I wiped the battery and fuse box down with QEW/water as well (after)...

And...here are the afters...
There wasn't a lot of sun, due to clouds rolling in. I used 303 in the wheel wells, and Meg's water based dressing, diluted 50/50 with water on the tires. I cleaned the wheels with Meguiar's D151 by hand with a terry cloth applicator...

Thanks for looking!!!

Re: Hacked up Jag meets 1Z and Dodo...

Thanks for the comments...with the British Racing Green (a dark color), the effort put into the correction was really rewarding.
