Re: 40th Anniversary ZR-1 Corvette (8 Days, More Than 60 Hours!!) by RickRack...
Wow great job, if it wasn't for all the pictures of the process I would have thought the car had been repainted. Seriously one of the best saves I have seen! Great Job.

Re: 40th Anniversary ZR-1 Corvette (8 Days, More Than 60 Hours!!) by RickRack...
lt1_man- Thanks Brandon! I think repainting it would have been easier!
Foo King Zo6- Ha,ha... Thanks!
Apollo_Auto- Thank you!
ScheerSpeed- Thanks!
charger17- I have used it on a few details in the past and has gotten me out of a few jams. So far, most of the Mark-V products I have tried work great...

that looks absolutely amazing! now the owner needs to get the motor Powder coated to match the quality of work done to the exterior

Damn man, I'm speechless. Gives me hope for my beater GTI after all these years, I wasn't expecting the 100% perfection you managed. Really incredible work!

Re: 40th Anniversary ZR-1 Corvette (8 Days, More Than 60 Hours!!) by RickRack...
I've been reading through a few of your details and especially like this one, that's a very clean and shiny result, i'm interested on hearing what the new owner thought when he came for the finished article
One question though, re the rubber trims/seals.
Why did you degrease them first, and was it just a normal degreaser as you'd use on an engine?
And i can't find that pro-shine product at all, could you give me the full name/somewhere to buy it?
Thanks
Dave.

Re: 40th Anniversary ZR-1 Corvette (8 Days, More Than 60 Hours!!) by RickRack...
90 ZR-1- Thanks! That would definitely compliment the car, but I think the owner is going to keep it just the way it is for now...
astralboy0- Thanks! I wasn't expecting it to come out as good either...
yomiuri- Thank you very much!!
MaDMaXX- Thanks Dave!
The owner was in complete awe and didn't know what to say when he first saw the car.
To answer your question, just a normal degreaser was used to clean them before the protectant was applied. It had years of build-up in all of the cracks & crevices which were in desperate need of cleaning. The Pro-Shine is a product that a local private detailing product distributor carries, which is why you were not able to find it anywhere.

Thanks for coming back, do you know of, or recommend an equivalent product that could be used on the rubber to do the same job?
