Usually when I do any paint touch-up, I apply about 3 to 5 coats of paint until the level of the paint is above the stock paint. After the paint has properly cured (usually the next day), I wetsand the high spots with 2500 grit sand paper until it is level with the stock paint and buff to a high gloss. Way2SSlow- Thank you very much Wade! I'm glad you liked the write-up and found it helpful.
Unfortunately, I sold my Z06 to save some $$, so I bought an Admiral Blue C4 for a summer toy. The Z06 is definitely faster, but the ZR-1 is pretty impressive for being 15 years old!
My car is the blue one in the back... EisenHulk- Thank you very much! TSC17- Thanks Todd! The owner was extremely pleased with how the car came out. I talked to him the other day and he said that the car hasn't moved out of the garage since the detail and that he just goes in the garage to stare at it all the time! alowe- Thanks!

Anyways, this write up is astonishing. Definetely in the top 5 all time greats considering the amount of damage your corrected.
BTW, I wonder if you know how truely rare this Corvette really is. It's as rare if not more so then the 63 split window and I'll tell you why.
Never is Corvette history have they made a DOHC Vette except for just a couple years during the first limited run of ZR1's and it looks like you got one of those not to mention it's a 40 Anniv too. Extremely rare engine and car.
Nicely done.
Josh

I don't know what impresses me the most, your write up or the fact that you remain so humble and never have a bad thing to say. You are true gentlemen and your work is obviously world class.
Seriously a great write up and one of my top 5 favorites of all time. Your work ethic and talent are unsurpassed and you continue to set the bar higher and higher. I spent an hour reading this and looking at it, and I enjoyed every second. Awesome work and thank you for sharing!

The new owner told me that when he was talking to the seller on the phone, he didn't know what he really had and how rare the car was. The new owner was nervous about the condition of the car, but hoped that it would able to be brought back to life. Hopefully the car will be treated right from now on! TH0001- Thank you so much Todd!
A lot of time went into this detail, so I wanted to do a nice write-up. I'm glad you enjoyed it as I always enjoy viewing all of you amazing work! Thanks again...

Can you share more about the "antibacterial degreaser"?

Thanks Sean!
Ryan and I use Spray Nine on every car to remove any previous layers of wax, etc. from the paint surface before polishing. It works great! Spray Nine Corporation

My car is the blue one in the back... | Bummer on the Z06 sale, but atleast you still have a Vette to play with. Are you going to post a Click and Brag with the pics of your new ride? LT1 or LT4?? Quote:

Between your C&B threads and your answers about product/technique, you've definitely helped me out and I'm sure I'm not alone there. Quote: |
