Swissvax Concorso finish on a black corvette

hi everyone from South Florida

A recent detail we did. we should be used to this weather by now, but it seems like 98 degrees makes it harder.

this corvette didnt have many paint problems, but it was black !!!
mainly light swirls and hard water spots, that needed few paint correction steps.

i use Optimum polishes and compounds, bacause I like how those products can be worked for a long time without drying out or dusting. Works well in the sun for those mobile detailers or hot areas like down here.
Great depth and gloss comes from this polish.
i will be happy if you guys can recommend on your favorite paint correction products
( compounds and polishes )... Im looking for more aggressive ones

for waxes...although its expensive and takes time to apply, i use Swissvax.
the finish is amazing !

Thanks

Time : 6 hr ( 2 people )

Process

• Photograph vehicle prior to any work. ( before shots and damages )
• hand wash - Including wheels, tires, wheel wells and windows
using micro fiber wash mitts with Swissvax Car Bath and wheel brushes.
• Swissvax Autobahn Wheel Wax applied to all wheels.
• hand-dried using safe water blades and Micro Fiber drying towels.
• Full paintwork and glass decontamination process using Swissvax Paint
Rubber to remove in-bedded contaminants and impurities.( clay )
• 3 stage light paintwork correction process - heavy, medium and light polish.
using different pads and flex speed with Optimum polishes.
• Paintwork and door shuts are pre-wax using Swissvax Cleaner Fluid.
• 2 coats of Swissvax Concorso is gently warmed and then directly
applied using the palms of your hands to all painted surfaces.
• Windows and mirrors cleaned and polished.
• All chrome and metallic surfaces cleaned and polished using Swissvax
Metal polish.
• Exterior plastics cleaned and conditioned with Swissvax Protection.
• Tires are treated with Swissvax Pneu.
• Final Swissvax Quick Finish to all paintwork surfaces.
• Photograph vehicle for Before & After condition.

Re: Swissvax Concorso finish on a black corvette

Thank you BIGAI3 and SHINE
There is noting like a good helper !
The Flex is the best polisher I have ever used. The gripe is great ( from the top ) and its just move on the paint in a very easy way with no vibration.
I also find it very effective on light and some medium paint problems like water spots, swirls and light scratches...very good

Re: Swissvax Concorso finish on a black corvette

The Concorso goes on so nice and thin and easy with an applicator, why apply it by hand. I guess different strokes for different folks.

Re: Swissvax Concorso finish on a black corvette

Hi DownSouth
thanks

I used Optimum Polish with three foam pads
6.5" yellow cutting foam pad - speed 3-4 / Flex
6.5" green light cutting foam pad - speed 2-3 / Flex
6.5'' blue final finishing foam pad - speed 1.5 / Flex

and Swissvax Cleaner Fluid...

z06...

you are right...the Concorso goes on nice and thin.
when I apply Swissvax Scuderia, Zuffenhausen or Shield I use an applicator, but when
I apply Concorso, Mystery or Devine I use my hands for three reasons...

* The paint was so smooth...He beg me to massage him
* "Wealthy Clients" LOVES when you do that to their cherished vehicles
* Swissvax Factory tells you to do that with the Concours Waxes !
I tried to apply it once with an applicator and it didnt feel right, I had to warm it
up a little bit with my hands and then apply it...what a diffrent...like butter

I am sure that there are many detailers that apply it by hand and detailers that use an applicator...
I believe that you should go with what works good for you

How long did you work each section with those combos at those speeds? I've been using OP on a white pad at speed 6 with my Flex, and I only seem to get about 1.5 min in our heat/humidity.

I use high speed with the Flex like you only on vehicles that i buff with ny Makita before.
the first 2 steps took about an hour each and the blue pad was very easy, about 30m.
when i have to do a detail outside I try to do it later in the day and using my
Costco Tent...works good for me
