Mini Detail

Worked on dad's Mini-S today. 20k on the clock, couple years old. Washed it with Meguiars NXT wash with two buckets, cleaned up some bugs and tar, and taped it off. Started with an orange light cutting pad and Poor Boys SSR2.5. I went very slow and meticulous with this, and was glad to see that there was no hazing after this step, so I went to a quick pass of Menzerna Final Polish on a white polishing pad. Next was Menzerna Final Touch Glaze, then a couple coats of FMJ. Final step was P21S wax. Result?? No swirls! I got most of the scratches out, but there were some deeper ones on the rear bumper, and a couple rough scuffs from autocross cones on the door. I might try to get those out when some of my heavier duty products get here.

Anyways, without further adu, my big mini detail!

British Racing Green never looked so good!! Almost looked black in person when it was sitting in the sun. Let me know what you guys think!

Re: Mini Detail

Meguiars NXT 2.0 with excess removed by a sponge. Let it go an hour and gave a second coat, again wiped off by sponge.

Thanks!

Re: Mini Detail

Sadly I didn't get a chance to clean up the engine, so I didn't take any pics. He's got the 1.6l SC motor in there. Pretty peppy little car. His doesn't have the LSD, and suffers greatly because of it. Oh well, still a blast to drive
