ACDetailing: 2008 Civic Si

So this was my co-workers car that he bought, oh, about 4 months ago. I told him to let me detail it 4 months ago, so the car could start off on the "right foot." But he said he didn't want to pay for me to do it 'cause the dealership was going to detail it for him. So I smirked and said "ok." KNOWING if he cared for his car like I knew he did, he would come back and see me. So we finally got a chance to sit down and talk about what he wanted done and we settled on the "whole enchilada" as he described it. So that's what he got!

Exterior:

Wash with Megs Gold class and Shmitt
Clay with Production heavy duty clay bar red+ Megs Spray&Wipe QD as lube
Wash again with megs Gold class and Shmitt
Wheels and Wheel Wells were treated with Megs APC 4:1
Both were dressed with Megs HD 4:1
Engine bay was sprayed off, deagreased with MAPC 4:1 and then dressed with MHD 4:1
Menzerna SIP with Green CCS pad via Metabo
Menerna PO85rd with White CCS pad via Metabo
Spray down again
Exhaust tip got MAPC 4:1 then Mothers Mag polish

Interior:

Fully vacuumed (no stains to remove!)
Wiped down with DP ISP
Glass with Stoners IG
Rubber all season mats cleaned with MAPC 4:1 then pressure washed and dried

LSP:

Lusso Oro

Tools:

LC CCS 6.5" Green + White Pads
Edge White Pad
Metabo
Sony Cybershot
500w halogens
Craftsmen 1,000,000 spot light
Campbell-Hausfield PW
PC 7424
Tons of MF and Terry cloth towels
Blood, sweat, and little tears!

When I first got the car home:

After claying the car; I think I'm done, right?! :

Wrong :

Poor attempt at 50/50's after just SIP:

After 85rd but before LSP, didn't get any after LSP as the owner was waiting to get home:

Overall I'm pretty pleased with my work for the very first time. I was able to get around 90-95% correction on all surfaced, thanks to honda's soft paint! Makes a joy of correcting that's for sure! And also the metabo didn't give me nearly as hard of a time on the BMW, i think with the BMW I was way too tense and didn't just let the machine flow, like I did with this one. One thing I definitely learned with rotaries is to be relaxed, they aren't THAT scary .

C/C Always welcome!

That is a nice transformation, and your friend sucks! for not taking care of the car as it was supposed to be.

I just have a question: why a heavy duty claybar for an almost new car? This is just a question, and no attempt to undermine your knowledge

In all honesty? I ran out of my medium grade stuff . And the paint was pretty gritty. The medium could have done just as good, but like I said, I had just run out and didn't have time to pick up some more.

The car looks great now great job. My friend just picked up a 07 SI and I not going to lie I was impressed with the performance of the car.

Thanks! They are peppy little cars, but I own it's big brother, an S200, so the Si is just "eh" compared to that .
