2006 BMW 330i

This is a detail of a 2006 BMW 330i for a fellow Autopia forum member. Thankfully he was able to drop the car off to me to work on over two days since the weather was not cooperating here in the East. High heat and humidity and thunderstorms. The client requested a one step polish (exterior only). I couldn't let him drive his car home with a dirty interior so I cleaned it up for him free of charge. Just a simple vac and wipe down.

Day One:

Foam with Meguiars NXT Wash Soap and CG CWG
Wash with 2 bucket method and Ultima Wash Soap
Clean wheels with Eagle One A to Z
Clean wells and tires with Eagle One Tire and Rubber Cleaner
Clay with Meguiars White Clay

The wheels on these BMW's are making me want to invest in some Megs Wheel Brightner. So hard to clean the inner barrels.

Day Two:

I started the day very early at about 8AM and the humidity was already at 85% so I knew it was not going to be a good "Menzerna Day" I went through some of my polishes and decided to try 1Z HGP. It performed flawlessly removing about 90-95% of the marring. The key I found is to work it at very low rpms (900-1200 max). I was surprised on how well it did. The clear coat on this car must have been soft.

Polish with 1Z HGP via Makita 9227 and 3M black waffle weave pad.
LSP=Wolfgang 3.0 sealant
Exhaust polished with Meguiars Hot Rims Chrome Polish and 0000 steel wool.
Tires dressed with Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Dressing
Wheel wells dressed with Street Appeal Tire Dressing

Pics:

This is what I had to contend with as soon as the detail was done. I had to clean up the car twice with the storms. At least the client got to see the car clean when he picked it up

Good job on the detail I had the same thing happen to me after detailing a Toyota.
