1950's Rolls Royce, new Focus, '07 Exige S

Happy Fourth everyone! I just want to share some recent details with everyone. The Rolls Royce had original laquer paint, completely oxidized, with cracks in certain areas. The owner wanted to restore the gloss, and time was limited, so I had to do my best on the large areas that I could. So, the paint was polished with 106FF and the UDM with a polishing pad, while certain areas were polished by hand. Once an alcohol wipedown was administered, poliseal was applied for it's ease of use, paint cleaning properties, and because it was getting late. Chrome was hand polished with Poliseal to spruce them up a bit.

The Ford Focus was brand new, only two weeks old, and we were able to provide the first wash of this vehicle. Incredibly, the paint was perfect, no swirls or contamination. But, good protection was requested and so we used three layers of z2 pro followed by two layers of z8. We applied the first layer of z2 pro, then z8 because we thought it was going to start to rain. Clouds cleared up and we finished the rest of the process.

For the Exige S, this was our second time with this vehicle, and it was fully repainted a slightly darker color. I liked it alot because the metallic flake was even over the entire car. Chrome orange from the factory had random lashings of yellow perlescent flake, which looks cheap. Nevertheless, SIP corrected the light swirls when applied with the UDM and light-cut pads. An alcohol wipedown and three layers of Zaino Z2 pro, followed by Z8 finished the vehicle up. Enjoy the before/after pics (ps...the exige s before pic was a different area than the after pic and the streak in the paint is actually a reflection of the sky!):

All of them look great! Amazing how nice 50 year old Rolls Royce paint looks when given the proper attention.

xfire- Thanks for sharing those, I found them all interesting:

For the Focus to be unmarred was a miracle

Cool color or the Exige S

And of course I'm a sucker for old RRs still wearing their original paint; I consider the cracks/etc. to be features, hope it never gets restored.

Nice work on all three

Thank-you for the comments...The Grape Harvest festival was great! From three years ago

Here's a picture of the Focus after the wash. I was amazed at how well it looked:

Nice, I like the colors on all of them. That orange is my favorite on the Elise, that blue looks great on the Focus (though I prefer the ZX3), and you almost never see a Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith in black (back in the 50s, black wasn't associated with luxury and elegance like now) - and it's left-hand drive! That's from one of the last years of the model, too - the Silver Cloud (famous from Grey Poupon commercials) arrived in 1956, iirc.

Incredibly, the Rolls-Royce is actually a dark green. A very, very dark green. It could not be captured in photos because the sun was not out when I was taking pictures. Thanks for looking! By the way, the M Coupe is awesome
