G35S, Grand Cherokee, S550, 325ci, F150

2007 Infiniti G35S and a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both were in decent shape, the owner is especially careful when washing his G35S. Just did an exterior detail on the G, 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina pad, 1000/1800/1000 rpms, finished with Carnauba Moose. The sun was in and out all day, but when it would pop out, it appeared that UF was doing a great job on the somewhat soft black Infiniti paint. Same combo on the Jeep, even though it probably could have benefited from somewhat more aggressive polishing to start. The owner hasn't decided if they are going to keep it or get something else so he opted to go with what would get him the most bang for the buck. In addition, the interior on the Jeep was cleaned using Woolite/water for the leather and vinyl and Biokleen TLC on the carpets. Vinyl dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus and the leather with Leather Master's Leather Vital.

Still some very faint swirls left but it was a very noticable improvement.

These next two, the 2001 BMW 325ci and 2005 Ford F-150 are regular one step customers, courtesy of their employer. About a month prior, the BMW owner opted to pay for deeper polishing on the hood (posted it back then) and the owner of the F-150 had saved up his "one step" prizes until he had enough for a detail, which I did the day after the 325. I finished both with Carnauba Moose (the BMW got Poli-Seal after the hood was polished out, then CMW a couple weeks later-he qualifies for the prize pretty much every month). Both were eligible for one steps again and this time, I just used Opti-Seal over well cured CMW.

2007 Mercedes S550. Regular wash customer, the dealer might wash it 3-4 times a year when it is in for servicing but otherwise I am the only one who touches it. The Ceramiclear paint seems to be holding up very well, 90-95% of the car is still swirl free.

Just did an ONR wash and put on a couple coats of Opti-Seal.

Not too bad for a two year old car (delivered in April, 2006) that has only been lightly polished one time. Took more sun shots but all the rest, the metallic in paint flared the sun spot rendering htem useless.

Great work as always Scott. It sounds like an interesting incentive/rewards program you've got set up through that company.

Scott, I always love looking at your threads. The Infiniti...just amazing. The Jeep...wow - that metallic pops! I love Ze Germans as well, and I can only imagine the smile on the F150 owner's face.

If I'm not imposing, would you mind sharing more scoop on that incentive plan? I only ask because in seeing your work I want to give up detailing and just go work for that company.

Outstanding Scott, What do you charge for a full detail?

I don't really know all that much about it other than the company pays for 1 step exterior details for their top performers. They can then either save them up until they have enough for a detail, or just get the 1 steps if they wish. You'd have to relocate to the Fort Worth area and be experienced at head hunting (they are a management placement/recruiting company).

lawrencea-it depends. Basic details on small to medium sized cars in good conditon (minimal interior stains, minimal swirls that 1 polishing step can remove) start at $135 but most vehicles typically cost more simply because a basic detail isn't enough to get them in the condition the customer is expecting.

Great job as usual Scott.

That flake "pop" shot on the Jeep is really impressive

SUPER NICE Scott!....and I'm partial to black BMW's LOL!

The flake on that Jeep really jumped out after you finished.

I'm working on a Toledo Blue BMW 745i that's kicking my behind....lots of scratches and I even managed to install some myself. Oh well...nothing like spending 3 hours on a trunk lid correcting my mistakes.
