Black S430

This one came to me from a guy who I talk to all the time at the local coffee house before work every morning. He's a nice guy, very friendly and has wanted this detail to happen for a while. We finally got it scheduled and he was nice enough to drop it off Friday night so that it was there Saturday morning for an early start.

This was a full detail and, being a Mercedes, I expected the worst from a very hard clear cloat....I wasn't disappointed!! The interior was pretty normal and much better than I expected from a smokers car. Come to find out, he doesn't smoke in the car so, there was no smoker smell to get rid of.....YAY!!!

I started to polish w/Menz SIP and an orange CCS but it was taking WAY too long! Then I remembered that I had just bought some LC purple foam wool pads. OMG!! These things are amazing!! They cut through the clearcoat with very little effort and made my life SO much easier!! I was truly amazed at how quick they worked!

His wife brought him to pick up the car and mentioned how, what struck her the most was that there were no swirl marks on the car. She added that he dad had owned a detail shop earlier in life and that she was impressed out how the car turned out!!
Gotta love that!!

Process:
Engine:
Spray w/APC and let run for five minutes
Respray and brush/wipedown entire engine-let run again
Gently spray down entire engine while running and then leafblow to remove any standing water
Spray engine with HD and let run to "bake" on dressing
Wipe down the residual HD and done!!
Wheels, Well and Tires
Wheels sprayed with WB and cleaned with EZ Detail brush
Wells sprayed w/DG and scrubbed with Megs brush
Tires sprayed w/DG cleaned w/tire brush
Tires dressed w/Black Magic Matte Tire Dressing
(I like this stuff! Applied very easily and wiped down to a very nice matte finish)
Car
Wash w/Dawn
Leafblow the car dry
Clay entire car including glass and wheels
Polish:
Menz SIP w/LC PFW
Menz 106ff w/white CCS (to finish)
IPA Wipedown
Topper
Natty's Blue x 2
Interior
Dash wipedown with Megs QID
Leather cleaned with Magic Eraser and dressed with DG Leather Cond.
Mats extracted
Interior carpet vacuumed
Glass
Polished w/KAIO and then cleaned w/IG

Massive improvement. The Mercedes looks great. I assume you used a rotary.

Great work on a great car, i had a question though, what did you use on the wood trim? did you just wipe it down with the megs QID or did you apply something else to bring out the gloss?

Re: Black S430

Just wiped it down with QID....there wasn't any real need to polish it out....it was just dusty!!
