325, Regal, A6
Did this Regal back in February with Meguiars NXT2, this is two months later after an ONR wash. She said it went through a few laser washes at the gas station.
Sealed with Optimum Opti-Seal this time.
============
2001 BMW 325. Like the Regal, I do one step exterior details on it for a company that pays for it for their employees...most of whom hardly ever wash their cars, this BMW being no exception. Last one stepped with Poli-Seal in December, he said he ran it through the laser wash a couple times and a few times by hand and dried with terry cloth towels, it was definitely filthy when I washed it this time. Anyway, he wanted the hood polished...but just the hood. The rest of the car needs it too, but the hood was by far the worst. The car has the original paint only on the roof, but the rest has been repainted over the last 6 years due to 4 different accidents. Ugh.
Anyway, the hood was bad...
Meguiars #105 mixed about 70/30 with Optimum Compound using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad @ 1000 rpm, gave me a good 2 minutes work time on black paint in the sun.
105/OC on the left.
First polishing pass:
Second-note the minimal holograms for an aggressive combo:
Half and half shot:
After Ultrafina using a blue UF pad, 1000-1800-1000 rpms.
I then went over the whole car with Poli-Seal using a blue Propel pad at 1200-1400 rpm, finishing at 1000 rpm.

Did you burn out the 7428? Looks good Scott. Don't you hate not being able to do what a car needs? Cyclo's working great...

Awesome, looks like the rotary is your friend. Does the OC 105 mix help the working time that much in the sun?

scott - looks likes the NXT2 is a winner - but is it any better than megs #21 1.0?

Re: 325, Regal, A6
Looks great!
I'm still learning a lot with my PC and here is a great opportunity to ask a question if you don't mind...
How exactly do you go about removing the defects in the 2 raised lines on each of the three hoods since they are not flush with the rest of the hood?

Never used #21 so I can't answer that.
Gryz-polishing pads have some give in them so I just go right over those sections.

Re: 325, Regal, A6
Awesome results as usual Scott! I'm going to give that M105/OC mixture or some variant of it a go sometime this summer. I seriously can not wait until school's over, LoL.
