Modern Day Batmobile (Corvette Z06) Lots of Pictures

This Z06 kind of reminds me of a modern day batmobile! The car has been totally blacked-out by the owner as you can see . Personally, I don’t particularly care for the choice of wheels on the car, but I guess everyone is different.

The car was shipped up from Florida and was in pretty good shape for being a black car. The owner just purchased the car and wanted it perfect.

Upon inspection, I noticed there were lots of light scratches from wiping the car down with quick detailer and a few deep scratches here and there, but nothing too extreme. The car had a pretty thick coating of dust on it when it arrived.

Below are just a few pictures of what the car looked like when it arrived…

Below is what it looked like under the hologens…

Re: Modern Day Batmobile (Corvette Z06) Lots of Pictures

The paint was in pretty decent condition for being black, but as most of you already know, Corvette’s have rock-hard clearcoat, so it took me a little time to get looking perfect.

All plastic trim, badges, window gaskets, etc. were masked off properly with blue painters tape.

Below is a before and after picture of the rear deck lid after using just M105 on a yellow foam pad. As you can see, the M105 worked great removing all of the heavy defects that were present and left a pretty nice finish on this rock-hard Corvette clear.

Although the M105 left a great finish, I decided to use SIP as a middle step to ensure perfection. The SIP really seemed to sharpen the reflections and prepare it for the final finishing polish (Ultrafina).

Here is a picture while polishing the hood with Ultrafina.

Below is what it looked like after Ultrafina with just an alcohol wipedown and no LSP.

Re: Modern Day Batmobile (Corvette Z06) Lots of Pictures

For some reason, the pictures didn’t come out as good as I thought they would. I think the bright sun reflecting off of the asphault throws off the white balance on my camera. These pictures were taken in full automatic mode.

Note: The front bumper has clear-bra protection installed if you can see the excessive OP present. Also I had some minor streaking issues after removing the LSP as you may or may not be able to see in the pictures. This was taken care of with a quick wipedown of FK-425 after the pictures were taken.

Excellent work Rick! Car looks a bazillion times better in person.

We need to buy a DSLR badly. Our cameras have a VERY hard time taking true actual pictures of what our work really looks like.

Looks awesome. Great documentation of your process.

Your client should murder that thing out more...black lights, darker tint, black emblems .

Fantastic work Rick. Although I am not a big fan of black on black car/wheel combos. I think it looks pretty good on that car.

Rydawg-

Thanks Ryan.

No kidding! I was looking at cameras yesterday. I really need to start doing my research so I can buy one soon.

TH0001-

Thanks Todd!

Re: Modern Day Batmobile (Corvette Z06) Lots of Pictures

G35stilez-

Thanks Sean!

He actually wants to get the windows tinted darker than they already are. The front headlights and the rear tail light are already tinted black. He is just asking to get pulled over!

Pats300zx-

Thanks!

I'm with you about black wheels, but it does look pretty good on this particular car.
