More than you can afford, pal

If you don't get the title, rent the original Fast and the Furious.

2006 metallic black Ferrari F430. My customer bought it about a week ago, only has 2400 or so miles on it. He really wanted a new one but the dealer basically told him they only sell to Ferrari owners, so he bought a used one, then placed an order for a 2009 red F430 Spyder that should be in next spring.

Anyway, he just wanted me to make sure everything was protected properly, the paint was in superb condition and about 98% swirl free. Just touched up a couple small areas with Poli-Seal. The engine was wiped down with Meguiars Interior Quik Detailer, which really gives a really nice, new look that doesn't attract dust. The carpets were recently extracted and looked great, just a couple minor spots that BioKleen TLC quickly removed. The leather was dressed with customer supplied Leather Master's Leather Vital. Great stuff, had some myself but need to reorder it. Finished the paint off with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose buffed off with Optimum Car Wax.

*%^&$ dust! Had to blow the car off with my vac (turns into a blower) and hit with Optimum Instant Detailer after taking the pics.

In addition to the F430, he also wanted the rest of his cars cleaned up, sealed and leather protected. BioKleen TLC here and there to address some minor carpet cleanliness issues, Leather Master Leather Vital for the leather, Meguiars Interior QD for vinyl.

2003 BMW X5 and 2006 Range Rover HSE got Opti-Seal and the 2001 Porsche Carrera Aero (he tracks this one!) got the same as the F430, CMW buffed off with OCW. The SUVs get more regular use so that is why they got OS, plus it is so fast to apply on SUVs; the Porsche and Ferrari are weekend cars so I go for max depth and wetness...but CMW does hold up pretty well. Not much polished needed, mostly some light touch up on the X5. I detail his cars about 3 times a year and the owner is absolutely meticulous about maintaining them in between. Even so, it was still a good 10 hour day.

He said he was kind of taken aback by the attitude of the dealer, then again a second time at how willing they were to work with him once he bought the '06. This guy definitely has the money so I know that isn't the issue.

Hey probably a n00b question, but what does "Finished the paint off with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose buffed off with Optimum Car Wax. " mean? do you put the moose on, and then before you take it off, apply the Optimum Wax, and then buff both off? just need some clarification. I love your work man!

Actually, I was hoping you could explain that to me as well Scott. So how do you do it?

I would have PM'd you but I remembered that you had turned off your PM feature.

Other than that, another few jobs well done!

Re: More than you can afford, pal

That's OS on the black bumper on the X5 and on the black trim on the RR? I can't get over how good that X5 bumper looks.
