1994 Land Cruiser

Got a lot more pics to upload then post but this one is pretty picture intensive so I'll give it a thread of its own.

1994 Toyota Land Cruiser. Had to break it up over two days due to regularly scheduled morning appointments the two days I had this week to work it in. First day I did the interior, washing, claying, tires, fenderwell and came back the next day to polish and seal it.

Not in the best shape but not too horrible.

During the Optimum No Rinse wash and claying with Meguiars white (consumer) clay:

The interior was cleaned with BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner on carpets and mats, Woolite/water to clean vinyl and leather. Vinyl dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus, leather with Meguiars Gold Class for Leather.

Nice phone, eh? The plastic coating on the wood trim was beginning to delaminate, nothing I can do about that.

Got low miles?

I was somewhat limited on the exterior, especially after 45 minutes of vacuuming the interior to remove dog hair. I am not sure if the customer actually owns this Land Cruiser (he has an X5 and an AMG SL55) so that might be the reason he gave me a price limit. Plus, it has Missouri plates! That meant a two step exterior detail. I really need 3 to finish down swirl free with the rotary (either UDM or rotary/Ultrafina) so I ended up polishing it out with the UDM using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad along with Optimum Polish and sealing with Meguiars NXT2 using a tan Meguiars finishing pad. Tires, trim, running boards and fenderwells dressed with Armor All.

Not 100% swirl free but not bad for one polishing step. Ignore the streaks from not completely wiping off the polish.

No sun at all after I finished and the only place at these condos that there was any sun was right in front of the entrance gates. Figured I would piss a lot of people off parking it there for pics.

Anyway, turned out pretty good for a two step.

Re: 1994 Land Cruiser

Awesome job as always Scott but I have to ask; on a job like that where time is limited as are the funds, what treatment does the roof get?

And any of you other pros can chime in on this question has this is really a somewhat generic question on larger vehicles such has this one...thanks.

Looks great, Scott! 'Bout time you posted another C&B!

What polish did you use?

Same as the rest, that's why time can be limited on large SUVs. Typically though, the roof doesn't need as much polishing, I guess because less people touch them. In this case, since it was one polishing step, the roof got it too.

I used Optimum Polish, thought I had listed it.

Re: 1994 Land Cruiser

I've been putting off detailing the wife's '97 Landcruiser...You've motivated me to get on it!
I've never posted a C&B b4 but maybe this'll be my first since I will be doing it at my own pace instead of for a client. Great work as usual Scott! How'd you like all those curves on the FJ80? hehe.

Re: 1994 Land Cruiser

Really nice work as usual, but my eyes are really drawn to how great the interior looked in the afters. I'm gonna have to try some of the BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner when my Matrix Grand SLam TLC runs out.

Great work Scott. The pics with the new cam are great.

Nice work on the interior. Do people still use those phones?

Re: 1994 Land Cruiser

The 80 series is the best LC IMO, Very beautiful! And the locker option for the front was the last time it was offered by Toyota... I'm curious as to why that cellphone was in there, its as if the guy still uses it! (he won't be using that old analog thing much longer though!) I think your 2-step process still turned out excellent!
