AJ Auto Detail: Lexus ES 300

Got a call while i was out of town. She said she was selling her Lexus ES 300 and has been for a while. It has been sitting for more than a month so her and her boyfriend decided to get it freshened up to be more appealing to sell. It was a disaster! The car probably has never been clayed and its a 1998 model. So i knew the job was gonna be hard.

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (5 hours)
Paid: $150 - $150/5 hrs = $30/hr

Process:
- Rinse
- Foam with Meg's Hyperwash
- Rinse
- Wheels, Tires, and Wheel Wells with Meg's APC 4:1
- 2 Bucket Wash with Meg's Gold Class Car Wash
- Rinse
- Dry
- Clay with Meg's Clay
- Tree Sap removed with Rain-X Bug/Tar Remover (works wonders) and a Credit Card (doesn't scratch the clear coat)
- Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze applied via PC w/ Blue Pad @ speed 4
- Headlights Polished with Meg's Plast-X applied via PC w/ White Pad @ speed 6
- Trim and Tires dressed with Meg's ASD
- Interior Wipe Down with Meg's APC 10:1
- Vacuum and shampoo w/ 1Z and Meg's APC 10:1
- Windows cleaned with IG
- Odor Eliminator and Scent added
- Leather received Meg's Gold Class Liquid Leather Cleaner/Conditioner

Before:

After:

The boyfriend came outside while i was working and said i was doing a good job. He asked about his mini cooper and what i could do to make it better, i told him a wash/wax would make the paint (red) richer and really stand out and dressed the exterior plastics and also do an interior detail. He agreed and plans to get in touch with me when he comes back into town from a business trip.

Thanks for looking!

Re: AJ Auto Detail: Lexus ES 300

you used a credit card to remove the stuck on tar?

anything will scratch a clear-coat, wool wash mitts, rubbing your finger on the paint, everything does. I'd like to see a picture of you doing this to a black car..

Re: AJ Auto Detail: Lexus ES 300

Use methyl-hydrate next time - stove fuel, it's cheap at local hardware store.
