Ls460, G35, Rx8
This is the LS460 I had some trouble with, you can read more here if you wish:
http://autopia.org/forum/machine-pol...ml#post1060014
Left side polished with Meguiars #83 using a yellow Meguiars pad @ 1400-1600 rpm.
Both sides polished with Meguiars #83 using a yellow Meguiars pad @ 1400-1600 rpm.
Before:
Polished with Meguiars #83 using a yellow Meguiars pad @ 1400-1600 rpm.
Polished with Meguiars #83 using a yellow Meguiars pad @ 1400-1600 rpm. Optimum Polish/Poli-Seal blend via UDM with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad, Poli-Seal via UDM using a blue Soft Edge polishing pad, buffed off with Zaino Z6.
The car isn't 100% swirl free, I was specifically asked to not go whole hog into the finish, just clean it up as best I could without getting particularly aggressive, but for just using #83 and a polishing pad as the main step, it came out pretty good.
I wasn't sure if the daylight would hold out long enough for me to apply and remove 1 layer of ZFX'ed (customer supplied) Z5 or not, so I took these pics after buffing off Poli-Seal with Z6.
With the help of the halogens and ambient light from the garage as well, there was enough light to get these shots after applying Z5.
I went over the car with Z8 about an hour later after cleaning the interior but by then it was too dark for pics. Using Z5 over Poli-Seal seemed to work well. No streaking, no smearing, no hazing.

And added bonus!
My new front upper strut tower bar:
I changed my driving lights from the stock McDonald's fry bin heat lamp look (on the left in the first picture) to Pilot Hyperwhites to better match the factory HIDs.
Both done!
Fresh coat of OCW v2 after an ONR wash:

Scottwax, you post that you buff the poli-seal off with OCW? Do I understand you right that you do not remove the poliseal on its own, just with the application of the wax?

Beautiful work. Are you thinking of buying a rotary when your loan period is up? Looks like your making good use of the loaner.

Re: Ls460, G35, Rx8
Looking good Scott!
Interesting that you applied the Z5 over Poli-Seal. I am curious to see what kind of durability that will provide. I haven't used Poli-Seal in while on anything. It's such an easy product to use that provides fast, great looking results. A perfect product for a one step polish/seal job. I just wish it has a little more cut though.
Great work once again!
BTW: Nice maxima too!
