Red Lotus after pictures.

After a long trial the only thing that made any difference was EC on wool. No other combo would cut the scratches.

process

qew
clay
HTEC purple wool 1800 rpm X2 in most areas
3M Ultra Fina blue ccs pad 1800 rpm
CG Ez Creme pc 6 white pad
OS pc 5 black pad
Scholl Spray wax
Z16 on tires
OS on wheels
wetsanded two very deep scratches but didn't get 100% removal.

Sorry about the lack of during pictures. This was a long detail over 2 days.

After Ultra fina

FINALS

Re: Red Lotus after pictures.

omg. Almost every car on here has some flaw of some sort. Small, hardly noticeable. But that is absolutely perfect. I guess if I had to point out something, there is a little bit of dust on the tire tread.

Thank you, but I don't really get your first statement. I don't think it is true.

I also have to tell you that the car is not flawless. I always do my best to make it look as good as possible. But there are random scratches here and there that didn't want to come out. On non metallic cars it seems to be an issue in my experience. Easy to mar, but very hard to get out. I also missed a spot on the left front fender that I had to go back to earlier today and fix. Didn't take much time though.

Then there is also this.

So how do you feel about this detail now????????

Have to call my painter connection.

Re: Red Lotus after pictures.

Superb stuff TDK
That's a fibreglass body right?
If so then how did the machine go at spreading
I've heard that fibreglass bodies can make a rotary want to go the opposite direction than you are and that it's easier to burn through them

I've got the water based version of HTEC (extreme power cut plus) and although it doesn't feel it, it's extremely powerful and just with an orange pad, it went through the clear on an MG F with nackered paint on the boot (scratched to heck) in no time at all

Whats up with everyone going up to 1800 rpm on today's paints
I've kept the rpm to 1580 rpm and only just attempted to go to 1800 after Dave KG said he uses powergloss and other menz polishes at that speed

Read all sorts of articles about today's paints not being as tough as older paints in regards to high rpm's

I retract my statement. Its total crap.

Other than that I cant seem to see those random scratches your talking about from the pics. Get that fixed and it would be 99% perfect, much better than most cars arrive from the dealership. You obviously have a keen eye for detail to find fault other than the afore mentioned. All I know is the last shot of your op is absolutely stunning. The amount of attention to all the venting and plastic bits that litter the lotus landscape was immaculate, thats probably the most impressive part.
