That's an old-school trick right there.. it'll work if you're desperate but there are much, much better alternatives out there.

+1 It's an old school hack, that and transmission fluid. Used to see things like that quite often at auctions and not limited to just bumpers, entire cars looking greasy.

 i remember the trans fluid being smeared on by dealers at the auctions.
I remember looking at cars and telling other dealers that it's got trans issues and that's why it smells like trans fluid.

There supposed to buff off the excess, not leave it all oily and greasy.

Guys
A marine plastic polish works wonders. Have 2 use 2000 or finer grit to "prep" the surface. Then use a good 3 step polish that you find in the "Marine" parts outlet.
