Ultima shelf life

Just wondering what is the shelf life of Ultima products. I'm especially interested in how long UPGP will last since so little of it is used for each detail. I know the FAQ mentions there are "no issues reducing shelf life", but reducing shelf life from what, an indefinite shelf life?

Re: Ultima shelf life

i would imagine 3-5 years in average room temperature (not too cold or hot). but then again, some have products that are a lot older that are still good (giving them a good shake once a month probably wouldn't hurt either)...

Re: Ultima shelf life

i heard somewhere that UPGP is activated by the air (hence the fancy sprayer on the bottle to keep the air out) that might create some issues in shelf life, maybe someone else can chime in

I asked once and was told it would last forever as long as you keep that little rubber cap on the sprayer. I hate that little cap because it always fell off unless I taped it on so be careful so you dont lose your $70!

Re: Ultima shelf life

I think the rubber cap was *supposed* to be insurance for the sprayer itself but... I doubt the whole bottle would go bad if you left the blue cap off as the product in the sprayer would set up and seal out the air keeping the rest of the contents of the bottle safe.

Re: Ultima shelf life

I've never seen the full size bottles. Do they ship with a separate cap? With all the talk of sprayers self unscrewing, I can't imagine they would be safe to ship in that state.

Re: Ultima shelf life

Nah. It just a little rubber cap that goes on the exit of the squirt nozzle.

Re: Ultima shelf life

Mine shipped with the sprayers separate. They also threw in 4 different sprayers that were loose among the packing peanuts for some reason. Now I have 8 sprayers.

The warehouse was instructed to add extra sprayers to every order until we switched over to the new sprayer. You must have ordered multiple sealants, so they put in an extra for every sealant you ordered.
