Another Ultima Question

As you all have probaly read aready in other post I have made, I have been using the Klasse Twins for years now and just recetly tried Ultima

I love how easy the ultima goes on and also what I hear about its durability but I think the shine and depth of Klasse is much better

Anyways all I want to know is if I would be wasting my time doing this but can I apply to my car:

AIO: Because it hides more than Ultima Paint Cleaner
4-5 coats of SG: Because it gives it a real wet look that I love
and then a couple coats of Ultima Paint Guard: because its easy to apply weekly if I wanted to and also because of the protection it offers

Am I just crazy or has anyone else thought of this or even tried it???

Another reason i love the Klasse is because unlike the Ultima the Cleaner step seemed to hide every little mark on the car as were the Ultima didnt as well

Im guessing this is because the Acrylic in the Klass and it fills in and hides iperfections better than the Ultima???

Re: Another Ultima Question

But whats the point to "hide" imperfection? wouldnt it be much better to polish the paint, then use Ultima to protect it and give the gloss back?

Its just a question of course.

I have to disagree with this. I can't speak for Ultima because I've yet to try it, but, KAIO doesn't hide anything. If anything, it accentuates marring and swirls left behind. That's the concensus of those who've used it on this forum. And SG likewise.

If your seeing "every little mark" disappearing from the surface it's probably because it's removing them due to its famous cleaning ability.

If you want an acrylic polish that fills, then try the new Swirlbuster Polish that David has developed. It removes swirls and fills whats left with an acrylic polymer. You can then top that with SG, I believe.

Different school of thought. Some do not have the means ie tools or perceived skill to remove the swirls. No biggie. Some also do not want to remove any clear at all, again no biggie personal preference.

It depends on the situation and whether its my vehicles or a clients vehicles.
When it comes to my cars I prefer to "clean up the mess" at least on my car because I baby it. My wifes car gets the defects polished out every spring other than that it just gets a new coat of Zaino every 3-4 months. If it is a client that paid to have the defects removed, I remove them. If its quickie details or dealer work I typically hide them.

Neither IMO is right or wrong, again its just personal preference.

Re: Another Ultima Question

tabinha: but a "quick detail" as he points out is almost obvious that its just "hiding" the imperfection. If i got to a car detailer and ask for a quick makeover of my car and i pay very little i dont expect the swirles to be removed. But if i sign up for full package i would expect more results...

I tell them that I can either remove the defects or hide them and that they will come back and let them decide. The dealer work the could careless. They just want a little shine and a clean inside. What do you expect for $100.

Re: Another Ultima Question

Sorry guys I dont have a buisness I am just an obsesive detailer of my own cars

What I want to know is if I can get the best of both worlds and does it sound alright to do:

Put Klasse on and use Ultima as a topper

So I get the sweat shine and depth of Klasse and the Protection of Ultima

And let me just say this

I washed my car today for the first time after using ultima and wow does the water bead like crazy even after driving in the rain
