Re: ULTIMA Open House

If this happens again I may just have to fly out. I haven't been to Florida in a long time.

Re: ULTIMA Open House

The open house event was spectacular. Nice cars, good food and great people made for a nice weekend.

I had a kick-a$$ time working with Sam putting the 65' Nova in winner condition. The owners had just purchased it and wanted to show it in a Hot Rod show on Saturday. So, Sam and I went to work on the paint to put it in shape and give it a couple coats of Ultima. The owners came back the the trophy in hand.

I did the GT3 from on end to the other, including the engine. The local Porsche service manager was so impressed that he asked us to come train his detailing team (Hint: If you promise to let me take the Audi R8 out for a spin, "I'll Be Back!").

The Ford GT40 X1 is brand new and didn't need any correction, but it sure looked great after a coat of PGP. I got to take it for a blast down the road... It's quite a handful to keep straight with your foot hard on the loud pedal through third gear. I had to cut the ride short because it started raining. Darn!

I drove the Nissan Skyline over from the owner's house. All was well... and fun... til I got a block from the shop when she flamed out. I tell you what, that girl is a pig without her power assist steering. Anyway, I got her lit again and limped to the shop where she stayed put with an ECU problem..

My favorite car of the weekend was none other than the Ultima 720. That is one mean piece of hardware. Her Chevy engine wakes up sounding angry at the world. Unfortunately, she came in with a drivetrain problem that we later discovered was loose blots in the CV on both sides. By the time we got her tightened up, it was raining and far too slick to take her out for a test drive.

Re: ULTIMA Open House

Here are some shots of Paul Azinger, Sam, and David after they got done detailing his Supra. Another of the Ultima display at the clinic, and another of David giving the Ultima car a quick wipedown of the Ultima car with the Detail Spray Plus.

Re: ULTIMA Open House

Here's Rick's (the other co-owner of Four Star Procucts) SSR and his BMW. BTW, did I mention the incredible food? As David said....it was a great time.

Re: ULTIMA Open House

Here's a few shots of Rick working on the Marauder. He's using the UDM in the first shots with the UPPP. The next shots are of him applying the UPGP. The last shot is of all the steps used on this car. It was first buffed with a Makita with a wool pad and the Four Star Body Shop Medium Cut Compound. Next came the MCC with an orange foam pad, followed by the Four Star Body Shop Swirl Mark Remover and a blue foam pad. After that was the UDM and the UPPP, and finally, the UPGP. Tires were given the UTTP.

Re: ULTIMA Open House

Here are a few shots of a black Porsche I was allowed to buff on. A lot of scratches when she arrived but cleaned up really nice. That's what made the whole weekend fun, you could watch and learn, play, or just talk to some really great people and have a good time and no one left hungry thanks to Barry. He drove all the way down from NC to cater the event and was very much appreciated.
