Just curious as I have no experience with the product but was intrigued by your posts on the product and the Ultima line in general. I picked up most of it.

The orange side is for polishing and it won't spread UTTGP effectively. In addition, it might scratch the trim. In fact, I don't even use it on my paint as I tried it once and it caused micro marring.

I thought that might be the case but the directions aren't to specific and leave some room for interpretation.

The orange side does work well though on harder clearcoats. The clearcoat on my car is as soft as it gets, it swirls just by looking at it. You're going to love this stuff, it works great.

For all hard surfaces, including wheels, chrome trim, stainless steel trim, and exhaust tips, use the firm side of the applicator.

Last I was told, they are waiting until they sell out of the V1 in the 12 oz bottles, but that sucks, IMO. They are currently selling a product that they know doesn't perform as well as they want it to. They have a better version, but won't sell it to customers until we buy the rest of their stock of inferior version. At some point, they need to suck it up and take the loss for the sake of their customers. I'm definitely not going to buy a product that the manufacturer isn't happy with, I think I'd be an idiot to do so.
I do realize that the primary change between V1 and V2 is how it does on higher profile tires, but one of the vehicles I want to use it on is a subaru outback with (imo) relatively high profile tires. So... the wait continues.

Does it wash off easily, or does the water bead off it? I've been interested in trying it, but I don't know if I want to pay a whole lot for a product that is slightly better than the competition.

I do however stress that prepping the surface is very important. Also I multiple coat my trim. I coat, wait for it to dry, and repeat as often as time will permit.
I just purchased and tried 303 versus the Ultima. So far...I prefer the Ultima solution by far. I will give this a bit more time and a few more surfaces, but I was a little disapointed in the 303.
