However, the Minivan tires, with the big sidewall, have lost most all of their shine. You theory on the sidewall flex makes lots of sense. | |

Okay, I got some monster tires to test on. I will have final feedback on potential formula changes early next week.
My next door neighbor has a Chevy Tahoe with Goodyear Wranger AT/S tires. The tires have 20K+ miles on them and have never been treated with a dressing of any kind.
I just scrubbed the tires and wheels with a good brush and Dawn. I applied the original T&TGP to the front and my modified formula to the rear. I will wait and hour and apply a second coating. I'll let mt neighbor use her Tahoe all weekend then scrub the tires again on Monday with Dawn to see how the finish holds up.

Whats the differance as I want to order some but if your going for a formula change I may wait a few days! Will the new formula be ready for sale immediatly?

We're having nice Santa Ana weather condition (bone dry, no humidity) this week, so I'm going to let the tires I treated Friday go another day before washing to see how the sheen held up.

BTW: what kind of detergent is this Dawn soap, we do not have it here in Norway. would it be any other "international" soap you could compare it with? Mild or strong detergent?

Regarding humid weather, I don't see this as being a big problem. When we have a very dry day like we are this week, the humidity is way down in the 10% range... it's bone dry!

See the before and after pics.
The before pic is just after a wash with no treatment. Girl next door's tires were bone dry.
The after pic is with two coats of the modified T&TGP, applied last Friday, and washed with a bucket of Dawn detergent mix and towel dried.
The sheen is only slightly less than the day applied. The tire cleaned up very well, with only dirt coming off on my white wash mitt, not black from the tire rubber.
I also treated a front tire on the same side with the original T&TGP formula. It is dark, but has noticably less sheen.
db
P.S., What appears to be streaking or blotchyness on the tire is Girl next door liking to rub her tires on curbs. T&TGP held up well there, too, as you can see that it penetrated.

Im not so crasy about the dull-matt sheen as the left picture shows, i rather have a dark sheen or glossy as the one shown on right side.

I have one more quick test to do this weekend. I need to make sure the product will not streak on paint after a rain or wash. We had this problem with an early pre-release formula. If all goes well with this test, I will have the modified formula ready in 4 ounce bottles by early November.
