Difference is in what it is best for. Considering any polish out there, from most abrasive one to practically non-abrasive cleaner one, fits the description of "removes swirls, cleans the paint, adds gloss" it is all about where on the scale they are and their intended purpose. Yes, UPPP will remove some swirls. However, I find it works best as bonding agent for UPGP while 106FF (and other relatives, like Nano) is best for bringing that paint to stage at which you want to put bonding agent and sealant. BTW, if you will not be using UPGP as sealant using UPPP would be pointless. Also, you do not have to use UPPP to put UPGP, it is just my impression two together end up in best result.
P.S. Isn't using orange pad with final polish opposite of what one is trying to achieve, like one step forward, one step back?
