I love nice black tire and especially when they stay in the fantastic wet-look. However i wonder how long can i expect the tires to look wet with Ultima?
Here in Norway we get lots of rain during autumn, so it would be interesting to see what kind of experinece you guys over in America have with this?
Alright then, dont think about the weather, but how long does the tire stay wet on your car?

I use Black Magic Foam and EO Tire Wet. BM is a spray and go and EO is a Spray and wipe product. Once you use the product on a newer tire, I find it staying blacker longer.

Frank, I just received my Tire & Trim Guard Plus the other day and haven't had a chance to try it out yet....... hopefully I get some on today and sometime later report how it is holding up.

I had a chance to use it over the weekend so I cannot comment as to it durability yet. However, the smell caught me by surprise and is enough to really make your eyes water. Maybe there wasn't much ventilation in the garage. I also felt that it didn't spread very far. Have others had similar observations?

I don't remember having a problem with the odor or fumes. It doesn't seem to spread very far for me, but my tires have a lot of raised surfaces (lettering, textures, etc.). But it does seem to last a while. I've got a couple of coats on mine and they don't have any problem retaining that matte look after they've been washed a few times. I reapply about once a month just to maintain.

Everyone has their own preferences about how tires should look, but on my car, a least a little bit of gloss really helps the overall look. Frank, if you prefer the wet-look on your tires, TTG probably won't be to your liking.
On my textured mudguards, though TTG rocks. I applied it about a month ago, I think, and they're still nice and black even after a few runs through the coin-op wash bay using their strong soap. If your car has a significant amount of textured plastic trim, *I'd* get TTG just for that. In my case, I hate dressing my mud guards (fat man, bad back ), so anything that cuts down how often I have to get that close to the ground is worth it for me. And, my gf drives a Subaru Forester on which everything below the belt-line of the car is clad in textured plastic, including both bumpers.

But ok, how "mat" or "semi-mat" would TTG be then? anyone got a picture before and after for comparison? I would like to see if the "mat" look you guys talk about is is something that i could compromise on.

The sealant does its job well in that it seals the tire sidewall and keeps it from oxidizing and makes it much easier to clean.
I'm playing with sealing tires and applying Sonus Tire Gel over the sealed tire to get a very dark, black wet look tire. My neighbor likes this look, but I can't stand it. Each to their own, but she is loving the look on her Chevy Tahoe.
As for my own car, I treated a brand new set of Michelin Pilot Sport (285/35 19") with TTGP last weekend. Since then I have logged 600+ miles and wiped the tire and wheel down every day with Ultima Detail Spray Plus. The tire still looks very dark and has the perfect amount of gloss for my taste (slightly satin).
The benefit I see with TTGP is that it truly protects for a long time, keeps the tire dark and makes the tire easy to clean. If people want a higher gloss formula just for tires, we created a gel that I can pull back off the shelf.

Getting a new Toyota with Ash-gray metallic color on the body so im a position right now and keep arguing with myself whether sating or wet-look would be nicer. I think i might just compromise and go for satin.
