Few Ultima Questions...

I'm leaning toward trying Ultima. I think it will provide the best protection from UV for both the inside and outside of my car.

I'm trying to be a little conservative on the money side, so my questions are:
If the car is polished, do I really need to use the paint prep, or can the protection go right over a polished surface?

If I were to use a woolite/water mix to clean the interior before using the interior protectant, would this be acceptable?

Looking forward to possibly trying all of the products!

Re: Few Ultima Questions...

I cannot comment on the interior products as I have not used them.

It states on the Ultima page that:

Quote:
Ultima Paint Prep Plus is a fine, non-abrasive polish that deep cleans paint, smoothes away swirl marks, water spots and fine surface scratches, and increases over-all paint gloss. As it cleans and polishes, Ultima Paint Prep Plus leaves behind a special primer designed to promote proper bonding of Ultima Paint Guard Plus paint protection. Using Ultima Paint Polish Plus greatly enhances and extends the life of Ultima Paint Guard Plus.
So no you do not need it for it to work but to get optimum results you should use it. It is a nice product and has surprisingly strong defect removal capabilities. I used it again last night and had better results than previously. Remember with it though less is more, do not let it set as it is a bear to get off.

Re: Few Ultima Questions...

Just make sure that the paint is clean/free of any polish residue and you should be good as far as PGP goes.

Re: Few Ultima Questions...

If PPP is a non-abrasive polish, how can it remove swirl marks? Just wondering...I am getting tempted to try this line out.

Re: Few Ultima Questions...

hooked, I don't know but I *think* it's more a function of using the product via machine and the abrasive action of the pad and not the product.

Re: Few Ultima Questions...

I use the term "non-abrasive" to mean that it is not a cutting polish. PPP will remove swirl marks. It will not remove scratches.
