Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 31 | My First Ultima Detail - 7th Layer UPGP Pictures AS some of you may know from my previous threads I tried the Ultima line and I have been very impressed with the results. Recent postings have discussed the durability/lasting of the product. These pictures represent the Ultima sysytem with 7 applications of the UPGP with intermediate applications of the Ultima Spray Detailer. This car has been at the South Jersey shore for months, with sand blowing across it, etc. and has intermittent washes using Optimum No Rinse, with sand on the surface. How's that for guts...or stupidity, but I have had no finish problems.
Since I haven't seen any posts of multi layer applications, I thought I would post these shots. Currently the car's finish is very wet looking and deep in color, with little to no surface defects, which I feel have been decreased over time via applications. I can take additional shots if anyone wants to see something specific on the car.
On a side note; the tires and trim have Ultima's Tire & Trim product and the wheel have only been cleaned or received Meguire's Quick Wheel Detailing Mist.
Enjoy, and I would appreciate any comments since I am always looking to improve.
Thanks,
Tad | |

1) I did wait at least 24 hours between applications, sometimes upto a week. After a week, I would give a quick detail spray or ONR, and then apply the next application.
2) ONR's use with Sand. I agree it's not recommend, but I heard alot about the product and wanted to test it out. I also did the same thing with my wife's black Saab, and no micromarring. I really believe in the product at this point. Unfortunately, time at the beach has taken its toll on her car and I will need to detail once it's home for the season.
Thanks to everyone for your comments, I have learned alot here from users like you taking the time to respond.

No problems whatsoever, even on my disgustingly soft paint and a few black Porsches that I take care of. Single bucket method too.

Great looking Corvette, the paint looks really wet and glossy!

Your picture reminded me of this one I took of an older Vette with a couple layers of Zaino on it. Something about the white reflections laying across the hood.
Very impressive and great gloss considering the how bright the red looks.
