Menzerna with Ultima products and UDM

Hello everybody, I have a few questions regarding the usage of Menzerna products in relation to Ultima products, namely the PP+.

I have yet to use my UDM and Ultima products, partly because I want to make sure I have all the correct products before I do anything.

For the removal of swirl marks, scratches and oxidation, I was originally going to use the PP+ with the DAS ScratchBuster pad. However, after much research, I get the feeling that I am going to need a stronger polish in my arsenal. I think I would like to start with some Menzerna products, but I want to make sure the products I buy don't overlap with the PP+ and that the PP+ can correct the paint from the harsher polishes I use.

Here's what I'm thinking:
Menzerna PowerGloss
Menzerna IP
Ultima PP+
Ultima PGP

Will the PP+ be able to correct the marring from the IP, or would I need something like their PO85RD (Cut??) as a finishing polish before using the PP+?

Also, most of the reviews I see of Menzerna are done with a rotary, not a PC. I have no idea which pads to use for each and what speed I should use on the UDM. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm also a tad confused about the Menzerna America and Germany products. I'm under the impression that the USA products have added oils to allow more time to work the product, which sounds like a benefit to a noobie like me. Is this true? If so, where is the best place to order Menzerna USA products?

Also, about the DAS ScratchBuster pad....is this supposed to only be used to spot treat, or can it be used all over a car?

One more thing- I have read somewhere that you can apply polishes in a figure 8 pattern, as opposed to the NS/EW pattern, which seems more common. What's the deal with this?

And my last question...where can I get a 'cheap' paint gauge?

Re: Menzerna with Ultima products and UDM

Just wanted to throw this chart up for reference

I really like how two different products are called 'Final Polish'.....

EDIT- I have an old bottle of Zaino quick detailing spray. Is this compatible with Ultima or Menzerna?

Yes, it will take care of it very easily.

Any tips on where to buy a cheap paint gauge?

What about applying polish/PP+ with a figure 8 pattern or NS/EW pattern?

And can I use the ScratchBuster pad all over the car, or is it only for spot treating? Or does it depend on the strength of the polish?

Thanks!

Re: Menzerna with Ultima products and UDM

You can use the DAS white all over. A 4" and under pad is considered a "spot" pad. I've been using IP and it finishes down pretty well but could use a finishing polish on darker colored cars. IMO, if you're going to to finish with UPPP, get 4 Star's Body Shop Medium Cut Compound. It cuts a little faster and deeper than IP (basically it's IP that works faster, not at all too fast for a newbie.) It finishes just as well but if you're using UPPP, finishing doesn't much matter anyway.
