Exactly why I haven't ordered. I already have a ton of Meg's stuff and don't really need much more so the only time I find shopping from Rick is when the order is over $100, so I at least get a free duffle bag and the shipping after $100 becomes a flat $16.95 fee.

Zoran if I don't find another source then I might take you up on that. $10 to ship two pretty light sponges is just a but too much.

You always have to order more than 1 or 2 items when ordering online so as to not get shafted by the shipping price. Add some compound or MF's to your order.

They don't sell Menzerna and I don't need another towel.

Thanks Al, I'll start the local search tomorrow.

Re: How is this hi tech body sponge different than the Ultima Elastrofoam?

I'm actually free to do what I want today and I thought I'd check out a few PBE stores so if I find any around here, I will let you SoCal folks know

EDIT: My trip was cut short since a friend invited me to go fishing on a charter boat off of Redondo. I was able to hit only 2 of the stores on my list. So far both of the stores weren't familiar with it. One guy said if I knew who made it he could probably order it for me. The other store (I believe it was called Color Craft) had some Meg's Pro and Detailer line products there, and when I inquired about how much the gallon of Wheel Brightener was, it was almost $27.

Looks like I might just end up buying from ADS again. Any money I'd save for the cost of these sponges it would easily cost more than that just in the cost of gas driving around. I've never been to a PBE store though so that was the only reason why I wanted to check these places out.

No offense meant/intended when I asked about the car being previously washed. I had high hopes for this as a fast alternative to spot claying my new-ish car but it seems more appropriate to use it on glass, overspray or neglected vehicles where polishing is part of the plan. Maybe someone can come out with a "tweak" to make it less abrasive (DFT's peerless sponge sounds like it's worth a try, despite the rare review, I just wish shipping wasn't more expensive than the actual product).

You will be very happy when using it for that.

Might give it a shot on a friend's windshield. His car sits under a tree that loves to spit out pollen and sap.
