Re: Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus

For *me* it's more pleasant to use when it smells good.

While it might be assuring to hear that you have not noticed any problems that is still not same as a 100% for sure there will be no problems so some customers might not like even risking. As I am sure too many returns would have big negative impact on the financial bottom line would it hurt in any way not to have any fragrances? Would "smell" be unpleasant without them? Personally I don't care how exterior product smells, or that it doesn't smell at all, as long as it is not giving me any headaches. It's fragrance will dissipate very quick anyway and purpose of the product is looks anyway. IMHO just get rid of fragrances as long as there is no negative impact.

No issue with the detail spray. It has very little fragrance.

Would you buy it if it is not fragranced as long as it is "smell neutral"?

Then I see a huge incentive for you to completely eliminate fragrance if it is causing returns too often.

Okay, I think I have better news.

I just got off the phone with Rick, our chemist. Unknown to me, Rick was aware of the possibility of this problem (fragrance spoiling with the polymer) continuing to happen as product sat on the shelf, so he was already playing with new emulsion systems. He said the last one he tried he liked and planned to make the change in the formula anyway. He says the samples have been on his shelf now for 60+ days and feels safe in saying the problem is fixed.

So, a new drum of Ultima Detail Spray Plus is being mixed today and will be flown to California by Wednesday. We will put it through the filling machine and have replacement bottles ready to go out USPS Priority on Friday.

Regarding the T&TGP, we are having the warehouse uncase every bottle of the product to inspect. The problem is related to a small amount of water that was in the filling machine. The small qty of water was enough to contaminate a few hundred bottles. I thought we found them all, but it looks like a few got through. We are going to check again to make sure there is no more contaminated product.

Thank you for the prompt follow up and resolution! Did Rick mention anything about any possibility this would negatively impact detail spray in any manner?

No negative impact. The "scum" is the Ultima polymer that fell out of suspension. I have a bottle with me and did a full QD on my Cayenne. No streaking, including the glass.

If that is polymer that got into clumps, and not fragrance, doesn't that mean there will be less polymer in solution that goes onto paint and therefore there is a negative impact?

As in what ends up on the paint is not what it is suposed to be, it does not have as much polymer, so it doesn't shine / protect / whatever as well as liquid from bottle without gunk would be doing?

Re: Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus

I took the term "negative impact" to mean "do something bad...", like streaking.

Oh, OK. I was meaning more like any impact on detailer (product) and it's results.
