Are you saying its commercial quality or implying that this was a set up?

I'l take that as a compliment then!

Product really 'speaks' for itself - I just captured it on video.

Figured that video was way more descriptive than the stills I had been using.

Despite the fact that my neighbors now think I'm crazy - (loony guy filming himself washing his car ) - I'll probably shoot some more video clips on the Ultima ease of application, and maybe the Tire & Trim sealant.

Plus, I have to justify the $$$ I dropped on the HD DV Camera (which was supposed to be for filming the new grand baby!)

Chris.

Yes, I am saying for "infomerical" quality or better.
This does not look like a setup to me. It's proving that there are better sealants out there for the money especially "The money back guarantee" that's a seller and with the test challenge, that is almost nuts. Many other companies would not even take a challenge of that caliber. I am hoping someone would test out Zanio, DG line, etc... against Ultima products.

I hope nothing but the best for the Ultima product as DavidB mentioned. "Put your money where your mouth is!" those kind of statements take guts and remember if the Ultima product does not live up to the hype... lets just say, a lot of autopians would take another route out.

Hi Chris,

You actually sold me the product already, I just do not know it yet. I showed my wife and she really liked the video and product. Any how, you really got me thinking about my sealants like DG line and others I use in general.

Re: Ultima Test Video

Not to bash Z5 or anything but I am testing Ultima against the Z5 on my black car and so far Z5 is coming in 2nd because it seems very prone to rain water spots. We don't hv hard water and I park inside day and night. No acid rain either.
My hopes are that Ultima will protect a little better than Z against water spots.
Who needs a 6 to 9 month sealant if it looks like crap after one rain?

Chris,

I have the Sony HDR-FX1... what are you using? Did you actually record in HD? What tool are you using to edit?

David - nice camera!

I shot in HD on a Canon HV10, then edited in iMovie HD before saving as a H.264 QT Movie.

The HD quality is more than enough to produce DVD's etc from, so is a little overkill for the web, but the resolution is nice when you're trying to show detail such as beading water.

Make sure you use the Sony HD mini DV tapes, as they do make a difference and are worth the extra $$$.

You probably want to look at getting the wide angle lens for your camera when shooting around cars:

http://www.expandore.com/product/son...Angle_Lens.htm

Most video cameras have excellent zoom, but poor wide angle capabilities, so a wide angle adapter will give you greater flexibility when shooting detailing work.

And get a big heavy tripod if you don't have one already

Let me know if you want a run through on video/iMovie etc and we can always meet up and discuss - as I'm local.

Chris.

Re: Ultima Test Video

Chris,

I got the Sony wide angle lens, then promptly fumbled it onto the garage floor and shattered it (damn!).

Regarding the tri-pod, I'm working on a "skate" design that will allow for a smooth sweep. Seems to be the most difficult thing.

What I'd love to try is shooting with two HD DVs at the same time from two different angles on the same shot so you can flip between the two perspectives. Now that would be sweet!

Now that we can do, even without going to the length of time-coding the two cameras together.

Perhaps you should pitch a new TV reality series called....

On the car lot
