My first Ultima Detail

Well, it's 2:00am, and after only 2 hours I applied the Paint Prep & the Paint Guard and I have to say It was easy. I was concerned after seeing posts about the difficulty in removing the prep product, and the uncertantity of the applying the Paint Guard evenly, etc. I had no problems removing the product, and in poor flourescent garage lighting I could see where the Paint Guard product was applied.
I have an '07 Corvette, which I detailed from the dealer using Klasse AIO and Klasse Glaze and P21s, and while I can't see the car in the daylight, I have to say it looks a million times better and in half the time, just from what I saw tonight.
Tomorrow afternoon I plan on applying another coat of the Paint Guard, but the Paint Prep alone left car looking wet and glossy!
I will take pictures, but can not upload yet due to posts count, but I will upload as soon as I am allowed.
Thank for your time.

Re: My first Ultima Detail

Looking forward to the pics. It's pretty easy to use.

Re: My first Ultima Detail

I didn't mention this in my original post, but I used the UDM 1000, to apply the Paint Prep product, using the White polish pad supplied with the unit and a speed setting of 2. I drizzled the product in a circle, in the center of the pad, perhaps 1.5" in diameter.

I did a quater panel at a time, by letting the product work in until it hazed (not long) and buffed off with little effort, at least no more than the AIO or the Glaze.

Re: My first Ultima Detail

Feel free next time to kick up the speed on the UPPP. I applied on speed 5 via UDM.

Are you referring to the DAS ScratchBuster pad? That's the strongest one, right? How damaged was the paint?

Re: My first Ultima Detail

The DAS ScratchBuster Pad is not the pad supplied with the UDM. The standard UDM pad is a light polishing foam.
