Ultima PGP for the realy lazy.....

Well not that...... but as I said before my brother (and by extension me and many friends) did professional detailing.

Towards the end of his career my brother got lazy (was not educated here either) and convinced himself that Clay and mother's Cleaner Wax (on a PC) was all he needed.
It didn't help either when you deal with people that want and inside/outisde job for less than 150$.
Suffice to say, Ultima may have kept him detailing on the side (it might bring him back after this weekend )

Anyways, I plan on testing PGP on top of paint that is only cleaned by soap. Maybe I will clay but not sure yet.

I know this is not as intended use but I just want to see.

I plan on doing this on a 1987ish Chrysler Concorde that has been abandoned at my house. I might also try it on our 1987 VW Vanagon or this Red 91 Jetta GLI.

I know Ultima does not promise miracles, but I want to see how close it can get.

I also want to know what to expect if I put PGP overtop of some debris, unremoved polish, tar drop etc. when doing my car. Of course I will do my car exactly as instructed.

Again the point of this test is NOT to attempt to prove that any recommended products or procedures are unnecessary, it's just to see what happens when suggested steps are skipped.

Also imagine another scenario, your inlaws are over and they are really jealous and vindictive of your car collection (i get it all the time). you voulenteer to quick detail their car, but you know their car is crap and you don't like them peronaly very much (remember they are vindictive ).
So you give it a good wash and dry and apply a coat of PGP sealant.
Would they ever notice?
Would it damage their paint?

Pictures coming soon.........

Re: Ultima PGP for the realy lazy.....

Fer what it is worth I used my bottle on 2 cars. My Vette was my first go and I followed the direction to the very letter. She came out slicker then snot on a glass nob. Second go was the wifes sedan but I didn't have energy to give it the works, so it still had some grease, old wax stains and the like but it still turned out great. Ya feel the rough under the slick and the shine came right up.

FWIW - PGP over any contaminants on the surface just means that you'll be looking at those contaminants for the next few months!

I missed a little of the polish when working on a car, and sealed over it with PGP - and 3 mths later it's still there!

I agree completely. We do not recommend the application of Ultima sealants over dirt or other contamination, as you will simply seal it in.
