Re: Ultima Paint Care Challenge

I'd prefer a product to sheet water off rather than bead it up. Why would you want water to bead up and stay on your car??

Re: Ultima Paint Care Challenge

Isn't the fact that the Ultima side sheeted the water much more quickly than the OS side an indication that it is holding up better?

I noted that there is a wind blowing in from the left. Since the hood is curved, it MAY be that the cuavature made it appear that the Ultima sheeeted faster. Until the Dawn wash, the Ultima tended to bead while the OS tended to sheet. Early on in the test, the OS side sheeted water rapidly while the UPG beaded nicely and the beads sat there. Depends which you prefer.

As I stated earlier, I believe the Ultima will protect a little longer. Since I don't normally use Dawn to wash, and apply a sealer more frequently than every three months, for ME, it's a moot point. Both are great products. The trade off that everyone must decide for himself, is the price difference.

I personally doubt very much that a wind blowing from one side of the car would have a noticeable impact on how fast water sheeted off the car.
