I would recommend it for your best results.

HELP!! I did the complete ritual of washing, polishing and then applying the PGP yesterday. I applied the PGP at 5pm Saturday evening. It's 11am in the morning Sunday, but the streaks are still visible. If I touch the streaks it goes away.
What should I do?? It might rain in the next couple of hours, so a quick reply will be most appreciated!

thanks

Re: Ultima FAQ

Don't worry, this has happened many times before. Lots of threads if you just do a Search for Ultima. There is one about "Streaking".

You used too much UPGP and that's why there are streaks that haven't disappeared. It's been more than 12 hours so just take some Ultima QD, or your QD of choice, and QD your car. The streaks will go away and you'll be fine.

Re: Ultima FAQ

Don't even need the QD. Just use a big thick clean MF and hand polish it all out. Great way to tweak a PGP final coat.

Thanks Adjulian and Knuckle. If it rains 2 hours after I apply PGP, would it cause a mess?

ALso, does PGP go on well with any wax? I know PPP is recommended, but what if my car has turtle wax, would PGP still seal it nicely?

Re: Ultima FAQ

No. Not two hours after.

I stick with PPP or a glaze (DWG). I have to admit I don't dig the Turtle Wax concept.

The streaks on my car still exist 24 hours after applying it. Ok I probably applied more than necessary, I tried wiping it with a clean microfiber PGP applicator, it isn't coming off easily. Any easier way? My car is also attracting dirt now

Re: Ultima FAQ

I find this odd. I have never experienced anything like that. What few places I got too much on easily buffed off in a couple of seconds. Wonder what happened.

Re: Ultima FAQ

I have had streaks both times I used Ultima product. The first time I chalked it up to over use of the product. Even though i followed the directions. I had to use a coat of NXT to get rid of the streaks 24 hours after the first application. I tried MF towels and it did not remove the marks.

I tried Ultima again a day later and had streaks again after using less of the product. MF buffing did not remove them.

The product is a great idea, but It seems in my case that it is not worth it. Not because of the money, but because of the worry that the streaks will stay there and ruin the pain of my new vehicle. It may be my color (dark gray).

Id love to get an answer so I can use the product on a regular basis. Its a great premise, if it works properly.
