The gel lubricant should wipe off very easily. In temperature above 85 f it begins drying quickly, so that could be an issue for some, and in temperatures below 40 f it will be too thick to use.

Re: Ultima FAQ

I am new to Ultima (with a new car) and after having read all the wonders here, I'll order it soon (Italy).
Just a question:
after the use of Elastofoam, Paint Prep and Paint Guard, what about waxing the car with P21S carnauba?
You know, just to get a perfect shine....

Max

Re: Ultima FAQ

Interesting, I had the same thought how would Collinite 476 go along would Ultima PGP?

Is it better to put the wax over PGP or under PGP?
If wax is put under, followed by PPP (as suggested) and then PGP will PGP coating be as durable?

Hi Max,
I think you will find that after PGP a topper is not needed, it looks great all on it's own! I would recommend a 2nd coat of PGP after 12-24 hours for you best look as well as durability.

Re: Ultima FAQ

Hi guys, I was curious as to how compatible the Ultima products are with single stage paint. I have the PGP and PP+, along with Menzerna IP, and I would like to detail a 1985 Porsche 911, which apparently has single stage paint. Are the Ultima products safe for that type of paint? Any idea about the IP?
Thanks!

Works great. I have done several older 911's and 944's with the product after polishing with Ultima Paint Prep Plus. In fact the demo car for one of the Porsche CLub meets I hosted was a single stage Guards Red 911 Cab. It turned out beautiful.

Re: Ultima FAQ

I just received my sampler kit and have a question. I will be prepping 3 cars this spring and have a couple of questions. Since I only have 4 oz of the Ultima PPP I will only be able to use this on one of the three vehicles and will probably be using Prime Acrylic on the other two. I assume the Ultima PGP will be fine to use over the Prime Acrylic but would appreciate any input regarding this combo.

I also would like to know what condition car would benefit more from the PPP instead of the Prime Acrylic. My metallic silver GS400 gets constant attention and I like the Prime on the metallic flake so I probably won't use the PPP on this one. My wife's daily driver is a white CRV which is garaged at home and work and always looks great even though I usually only clean it up once a year (with the Klasse twins for years and now the Prime Acrylic / AJT combo). Kinda pisses me off how good her car looks after washing when I haven't done anything to it for a year but I want longevity/durability for this one so that I can baby mine. Same thing for my Mom's old Buick LeSabre...it doesn't get many miles and stays in the garage most of the time. She loved a sample of OptiSeal I tried on it but it now has Collinite 845 which she was not crazy about. She liked the slickness of OptiSeal.

Which of these vehicles would benefit most from the Ultima PPP instead of the Prime Acrylic? What would be the primary differences?

I thought maybe the longevity might be better for PGP with the PPP base instead of Prime but not sure about that.

Thanks David! Does the same go for the Menzerna?

Re: Ultima FAQ

David, Does the Ultima PPP remove swirl marks and minor scratches when used with hand?
There are several swirl marks on my car. Not sure if I can/should be using special swirl/scratch removers before using the Ultima PPP.

Can someone please help?

Re: Ultima FAQ

Fine swirls... yes. Scratches? It will depend on how hard the paint is. However, I have compared it side-by-side with Meguiar's ScratchX (also mild), and it does about the same amount of work.

The applicator provided with Ultima Paint Prep Plus does a great job removing swirls by hand. If you rub vigorously, it will also go after light scratches.

Thanks David. Somewhere you had mentioned that if there are swirl marks, it will take all of the 4oz bottle in the sample kit. So, is it that if I have swirl marks, I have to use more of PPP?

I plan to order the sampler kit. Is there a discount coupon I can use. Someone told me that the kit was available for 24$ sometime back.

One more question - Would I need to buy the orange applicator (worth 6$) separately if I am buying the sampler kit? That would be required to us PPP, right?
