Have you done extensive testing on leather seating surfaces?
How do people that have used this product like it so far?? |
I have an extensive background in leather, tanning and leather treatments. Let me offer a little information that will help.
First, all modern automotive leather upholstery is split, milled, dyed and coated with a thin vinyl coating for protection. With that said, the natural moisture in automotive leather is trapped and tends to remain for many years. If you look at most seats, you will find a thin vinyl between the foam and the leather. This allow the leather to slip, to avoid wear, and provides a moisture barrier.
Leather beathing... like "paint breathing"... is a thing of the past. We all need to change how we think.
When you protect leather upholstery, you are protecting the vinyl coating. So, that means all interior surfaces (leather, plastic, wood trim, aluminum-look trim and vinyl) can be treated with a single product.
We did extensive testing on interiors with the Ultima products before release. We primarily tested new vehicles, but also a few older models.
In my own home, I have a pair of 1930's Deco club chairs. I have been using the Ultima products on these chairs for more than a year. They have not looked or felt better in the ten years that I have owned them. Plus, the dye stopped coming off when I cleaned them.
Anyway, I thought that info might help.
