Ultima Product Guide Cover

This is one of the design ideas for the Ultima Product Guide.

The guide is 24 pages and will be printed on 80 LB paper in high gloss.

What are your thoughts on the cover?

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

I like it. I know the logo is a done deal, but I find it hard to read, which I always consider a bad thing. I guess once you know what it says, it is distinctive, and people will recognize it by the "shape" rather than reading what it says.

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

IMHO...the concept of the cover is good...i like the idea of the sports car speeding away into the horizon. the actual image itself doesn't look highly refined and not that professional. the car looks pasted in there and a bit out of place (not sure what the photoshop terms would be...layers?). the main background looks like the Windows XP background with a road pasted on top.

just trying to be up front and help out.

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

I'm sure that's not final artwork it looks like a comp.

I'm not sure about the messaging it looks like you got two tag lines, "Clearly Different" and "A New Way of Thinking About Car Care." I'd pick one and separate the other in a different location.

The image idea looks okay but a bit too generic IMHO. I think you need an image that communicates car care products. The sport's car racing down a desolate road doesn't really communicate car care.

Appreciate the feedback... I put it out there so y'all can take a whack at it. Better now than after I write a check to the printer for $20K!!!

YEP... it is a comp.

Good feedback on the tag lines.

Regarding the "doesn't communicate car care comment," that is intentional. The reason is that we are positioning this as a lifestyle product. Every single Ultima product is designed to be faster and easier to use and last much longer. As a result, you get your time back to do what you enjoy doing most... driving, golfing, surfing... whatever! Time is a luxury. Enjoy it!

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

all the angles and lines point to a single spot in the horizon...the text placement just doesn't feel comfortable.

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

Generally I like the "lifestyle" approach, the higher quality look and feel. However, IMO if the car were closer to the foreground, hence larger, maybe more of a super glossy finish on the car can be visible. As it is, it's tough to note how the finish looks on the car.

Re: Ultima Product Guide Cover

Where did you get the pic? Maybe you can get a real pic of an s2000 and try it from that angle.
