polycharger and layering

Sorry if this has been asked, I did a search and got nothing.

This is directed at David, but I welcome any input. If I add polycharger to Klasse HGS, how will that effect any 'layering' effect I can create by applying multiple coats? How long should I wait between coats?

Re: polycharger and layering

somebody's got to know, will poycharger help create layers of KSG if I wait for the KSG to cure (24 hours)?

Re: polycharger and layering

Let me share my experience.

Adding Polycharger H2O to Klasse SG provides easier application (wipes on much thinner, wipes off much easier), decreases the cure time, and strengthens the acrylic coating. I also find that the final finish is much slicker and has a better gloss (more clear).

I have been waiting 8-12 hours between coats and get great results. Now, I have also been using Polycharger H2O with Sonus Acrylic Glanz. I add double the recommended amount, and it's one kick butt spray sealant. I get the same look as Klasse SG with Polycharger H2O in a product that's much faster and easier to apply.

Re: polycharger and layering

I mainly use Zaino and DG, so does polycharger do the same as zfx in terms of allowing one to layer in one session?

Re: polycharger and layering

ZFX strengthens bonding and allows Zaino to cure in 15 minutes or so. polycharger doesn't speed up the cure time (correct me if I'm wrong)

Re: polycharger and layering

Wannafbody, not at all true. ZFX allows 2 coats to be applied in a day. The polish still takes 24 hours to cure.

Polycharger does shorten the repeat application time of most sealants. That is not the same as curing. The ability to apply a second coat sooner simply means that the first coat is stable and won't be removed by a second application, or worse, get all gummy.

Curring means that crosslinking is complete and the molecule chains are solid.

Re: polycharger and layering

(QUOTE)ZFX™ is a Zaino Show Car Polish cross-linking and acceleration additive. It offers near-instant cure time, reduced surface distortion, enhanced polish flexibility, and improved bonding to both paint and additional layers of Show Car Polish. In simple terms, ZFX™ vastly improves paint surface appearance and increases polish durability.(Quote-from zainostore.com)

This is what Sal claims on his website- I'm not a chemist so I can't verify which of you is correct.
