Polycharged KSG

Tried the Polycharger H20 yesterday mixed with KSG on a friends 2006 black Dodge truck

Temp: Around 75deg

Process:

wash with Dawn
Clayed with Sonus Green
Polish via rotary (1200 RPMS) with Blackfire Ceramic Clear Finishing Polish
IPA 50/50 wipedown

Mixed 2oz of KSG with 3 doses of PCH20
Applied with MF Applicator spritzed with Acrylic Spritz

Application:
About like regular KSG.

Drying:
Allowed it to "dry" for 30 minutes before removing. It looked completely hazed in about 15 minutes or so.

Removal:
This is where it got wierd. The hazed product came off pretty easily even in spots where it was applied a little to heavy. In the garage where I was working it seemed to be doing fine. I then pulled it out into the sun and found that the surface looked streaked. It's kind of hard to explain but it was like the product had never dried completely. You could wipe and wipe on one area and all it would do is change the direction of the "streaks". It had a a somewhat oily look to it. We let it set for another hour and tried to remove it with the same results, then we tried some QD with no luck either. I could only see the "streaks" when the sun was at the correct angle but they were there for sure.

Appearance:
Looking at the truck in the shade it was beautiful, very very wet looking without the classic KSG candy shell look. In the sun it also looked great until you got the sun's reflection at just the right angle then those dang streaks would show up.

Slickness:
Slicker than straight KSG by far, I'd say it easily puts it up there with non-boosted FMJ or ZFX'd Zaino.

Overall I'd say the main positive for the boosted KSG is improved slickness. The negative of course was the streaking. I'll report back after the first wash to see if the streaks disappear which I believe they will. This will also be a good test for durability as the truck isn't garaged.

Re: Polycharged KSG

Sorry for no update, I've had to travel the last couple of weeks for work.

The truck was washed one week after the KSG was applied and the "streaks" did come out and it looked great.

The surface was very slick and it tends to bead water IMO more so than straight KSG. In the past I've always noticed that KSG seemed to sheet more than bead.

It's been three weeks since the truck was washed so it's now been through three or four good rains and one washing (remeber it sits outside all the time). I think the PC has really helped the slickness of the KSG in this case.

Yesterday I did hit it with some boosted Acrylic Spritz. I intenionally left off half the hood just for durability testing reasons. The boosted AS is NICE!!!! I think it actually made the surface slicker than the boosted KSG when it was first applied.

I'll keep tabs on the vehicle over the next few weeks and I'll probably hit it with AS again in January.

I'm also going to try KSG again on a different vehicle but with only two doses of PC-H20 this time.

Re: Polycharged KSG

Look forward to your results on the new application as well as update on the previous apps that you have done.
