Polycharged Meguiar's NXT

Test car: 2003 Nissan 350Z – Chrome Silver
Test portion of car: driver’s side door panel
Temperature: low 60’s
Application was done in the garage.

Process

· Washed with NXT

· Clayed with Pinnacle

· Washed with NXT

· Polished with Klasse AIO

· Applied Polycharged Meguiar’s NXT (polycharged with 4 full doses)

· Waited 15 minutes, then buffed off

Observations after 1st Coat

First coat went on a bit thick even though I was trying to apply a thin coat, but it came off very easy.

Slickness, as of now, is about the same as NXT.

Since applied (approximately 20 min. ago) the look is amazing. It seems to have more of a mirror-like finish than the NXT alone. Trying to get my Chrome Silver to “pop” has always been a challenge, and the NXT has seemed to work best. It’s what I’ve been using on the car since I bought it new in ’03. The Polycharged version is even more amazing!

So far, I’m very impressed!

I plan on adding a second coat tomorrow. I’m anxious to see how the durability is.

Not the best picture taking day here in Philly. I'll try to get better shots tomorrow after the second coat is applied.

Nice looking Z very tasteful (except stickers) and beautiful color!!!

How will you determine the durability with the AIO under the PC'd NXT?

Thank you!! I show the car and the stickers are on there because they're people who have been helping me along the way.

Sounds like I might be in for detailing education if I did something wrong, but the entire car was prepped using the AIO with NXT on top. The only difference is the one panel with the Polycharged NXT. Think I should have skipped the AIO?

Awesome !!! I am curious to see what the polycharger does for durabilty of the NXT. Can't wait to give some a try tomorrow as well.

Just for the PC-NXT test panel. The AIO has some protective elements that will skew end-point durability determinations.
When does the NXT end and the AIO take over?

If the PC-NXT durability was shortened, was it due to the AIO (ususally only good for about 4-6 weeks)?

If AIO is your polish/cleanser of choice, just wipe down panel with isopropyl alcohol prior to applying the PC-NXT.

Your present AIO-PC-NXT still will reveal very useful information. Many here use AIO/Prime/Prime Strong as a base for many products.

We know one thing. PC-NXT over AIO looks great on silver!

I see your point, and it was something that I hadn't thought of. I'll re-prep that panel tomorrow and apply the PC'd NXT.

It really looks amazing in person. The silver looks very wet and very clear. I'm anxious to see how it looks in the morning after having some time to cure.

Cathy,
I edited my response. See above.

Do another panel not using AIO or do a isopropyl alcohol wipe down after AIO polishing.

David corrected me as well . . . I too planned on AIO or FK215, but he suggested Dawn and clay [if required] for impartiality.

The results seem very similar to my PC-#21.

Thick application
Easy removal
Very reflective and slick

I'm a little curious on how Polycharger affects the cleaning abilities of a product.. All the Meg's sealants will have at least a bit of cleaning ability
