My RDF Beta Testing Expierence

I'm planning on using this thread throughout my entire testing process of my RDF samples. I will post copious amounts of pics and detailed experiences on everything encountered. My goal with this thread is to give David as much info as possible in terms of feedback and to share the experience with everyone out there to such a degree that they feel as involved in the testing process as the actual tester.

On to the testing ...

I got my package today, although it was a bit of a fight. The UPS guy came while I was in the shower so I had to drive an hour to go pick up the package at the sorting facility.

I'm charging my camera batteries right and I plan on taking/posting pictures of the kick-*** bottles that all the products came in.

My RDF Beta Testing Experience

Heres the pics of the bottles that my sample kit came in. These bottles truly are outstanding, another user put it well when he said these bottles cry out for extravagant packaging.

The pump bottles use a quality nozzle that seems on the same level as my girlfriends expensive body lotions and the "micro-fine" sprayers are truly a micro-fine spraying device. Ive never came across anything that achieves such a fine and even spray as these.

Heres all 4 bottles lined up, I would say they are about as 3/4 as tall as a 20oz. soda bottle.

Heres a better picture of how nice the sprayers actually are

Heres a better picture of how nice the pump is on the Paint Sealant

Heres another close-up of the sprayer nozzles

On to the colors ... and yes the smells! Sorry for some of the pics, its hard to take a picture of a liquid while not trying to spill/smear it everywhere, though they should be more than enough to get the general idea across.

Tire and Trim Sealant - Dark Purple and smells to me like a tire shop. Like the smell that hits you when you walk into the warehouse where they keep all the tires at a tire shop. IMO, a very pleasant, non-offensive smell. Has basically the same consistency of the Adams VRT or other similar tire dressings.

Quick Detailer - Baby Blue in color and smells very similar tanning lotion. Again, another very pleasant smell that would not bother me in the least to use throughout an entire detailing process. Same consistency as every other QD Ive seen.

Spray Sealant - Very close in color to the QD, but it seems to have a slight green hint in it. Smells of spearmint, which, like everything else is a very pleasant smell that isn't over zealous or offensive. Same consistency as the QD.

Paint Sealant - Mint Green in color and is the only one without a "cute" scent. It smells mildly of chemicals, but nothing overbearing or anything that would be unpleasant to use. In comparison, Collinite's chemical scent is about 10X as strong as this and Collinite doesn't bother me. Consistency very similar to Eagle One's Nano Wax, it doesn't seem like a "clingy" or "sticky" type wax, its more along the lines of a cream or lotion.

Overall, I'm very anxious to try these out tomorrow afternoon. After looking at some of the pics in the original RDF thread I'm really excited to see what these products can do for my car.

I would like to get some input from DavidB on my plan of attack for tomorrow.

Heres what I had in mind:
Wash with NXT
Clay with Mothers using Adams QD as lube
Klean-Strip Wax Remover wipe down (Similar to Prep-sol)
RDF QD Wipe down
RDF Paint Sealant by hand with Megs foam app. (lightly misting the app with RDF QD)
RDF Tire and Trim Sealant
RDF Spray Sealant

If theres anything wrong or anything you would like me to change just let me know. If not I will update tomorrow with lots-o-pics.

Wow man, those bottles really are something...with the proper labels, they'd look amazing. I'm sure the products are on par with the bottles. I wish I could've gotten in on the beta testing, but I can't wait until they come out on the market.

Can't wait to see pics of the products in action!

How long do you plan on monitoring the products durability?

I'd like to comment again that ONLY the closures (sprayers and pump) mechanisms will transfer to the final product. The bottles will not be cylinders.

Allow at least 4 hours of cure time after using the #49 sealant before applying the spray sealant. My advise is really to not use the spray sealant until after washing the first time. To do so will simply waste the product.

If you want, you can use the spray sealant by itself on a car that has no wax/sealant coating to see how well the spray does all by itself.

One last note about the spray sealant... the 4 oz. bottle is enough product to cover several cars. It does not take much.

Thanks for the quick response, I was going to ask the same kinds of questions.

Thanks for the heads-up about the spray sealant.

I just finished applying the Paint Sealant, I'm letting it sit for about 45 minutes then I'm going to buff off and give a full review on everything Ive used. Of course I have oodles of pics!

Another question, can I use these products on the glass? I was thinking about using just the spray sealant on my front and rear windows.
