This product is a clear gel based “sealant” dressing. It is designed for all colored, textured plastic (plastic cladding, valances, mirrors, bumpers, grills, etc), rubber trim, rubber seals, bumper trim, tires, and rubber/plastic parts under the hood. This product is not designed for interior use.
This product is being designed to:
1. Outlast all gel- and cream-based rubber/plastic/vinyl dressings on the market.
2. Offer a satin, natural appearance on trim and a dark, medium gloss on tires.
3. Offer exceptional protection from UV, ozone and pollution. Application
This product must be applied to a clean, dry finish. Tires and trim must be thoroughly cleaned with an appropriate cleaner to remove all oil, dirt and other dressing/protectant products.
For all parts except tires, apply a liberal coating of RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel using a foam applicator and allow the product to sit for 10-15 minutes. Wipe off excess gel and buff to a perfect, satin finish.
For tires, apply two liberal coats of RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel using a foam applicator, allowing 5-10 minutes between coats. Buffing off is optional. Testing
Wash vehicle as normal, using a quality car wash. You should see the parts coated with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel bead water in the same way freshly waxed paint beads water. When these surfaces stop beading water, the protection is gone. Color and finish richness will gradually fade.
Please note:
1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply?
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product?
3. Color and richness of tires/trim after each wash. How much did the color/richness fade?
4. If car is exposed to the elements, how many weeks did Tire & Trim Sealant last (keep trim looking good)?
5. What would you like to see changed to make RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel better? Please use this thread for testing/feedback discussion of RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel only.

Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Naperville, IL Posts: 301 | I just want to let you know that on my 2nd pump I actually pushed in my bottle and broke the top and it slipped outta my hand. About half of it landed oozed out on the ground. I picked it up and ended up cleaning out a container from the container store that had nanowax. i was able to get out the majority (99.9%) of it with stoners xenit... but my sample could be slightly tainted with nanowax and xenit.
The worst part was, the trim gel was the one i was looking foward to the most -.-
I used one of those black and yellow contoured tire swipes
1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply?
It was pretty easy, especially tires, it was easier to spread around than I am used to.
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product?
With out buffing off the gel on the tires it was pretty wet... even my back tires which generally dont respond to these types of dressings looked pretty good.
3. Color and richness of tires/trim after each wash. How much did the color/richness fade?
Other than the initial 'super wet shine' the nice dark shimmer has stayed though 2 washes.
4. If car is exposed to the elements, how many weeks did Tire & Trim Sealant last (keep trim looking good)?
[EDIT 10/24]
The day after I applied it it rained... but still held up. It kept its dark look but wasnt as shiney, but the goal was to hold up a matte look which it did. Also I'll let you know but the temps here have been freeze frosting over my car, tomarrow I'll see if it held up though 2 nights of that.
[END EDIT]
[EDIT 10/26]
Other than the initial 'super wetness' a nice matte sheem has lasted though 2 harsh rains, and 2 frosts.
[END EDIT]
5. What would you like to see changed to make RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel better?
a nice scent, maybe the package could include 3 lil packs of scent and users can pick one and pour it in initially and mix/shake it so you dont have to be like hi-temp and have inventory of a grape or cherry and such.
I like the pump application. (though i dunno if it was the bottle, my 'strength', or the dressing weakening the bottle that made it brake)
EDIT: PICS - After 2 rains and 2 frosts and one nice day.

Join Date: Feb 2005 Posts: 1,157 | time for my first review on the Tire and trim sealant got to use the tire and trim sealant when I go it a few days ago. wanted to give it a couple of days. been looking for a quality tire dressing that will last longer thea what I have tried so far. same thing with the trim as I am pretty busy these days and would like a little more durability. also living in the Northeast does not help in the winter.
1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply?
did my mirrors and trim on my bumper using ONR and drying with a WW. applied with tire swipe and was impressed with how easy the gel formula applied. cleaned my tires with PB apc and tire brush ( usually use soap and water but wanted make sure the surface was pristine) rinsed with hose then towel dried with mf. coverage was very good. the gel is thinner than I expected and a little goes a long way. used a separate swipe for the tires, same result easy to apply and great coverage. waited 15 minutes then buffed all surfaces off with a mf. did 1 coat on the tim and bumper and 2 coats on the tires before buffing.
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product?
I noticed an immediate color change of the surface of the trim and the tires. they took on a darker richer natural color right off the start. I currently use PB BnB on my tires and Sonus trim and Motor kote on the trim. the tires were a little shiny at first but once you buff them with the mf, they take on a nice dark satin finish. this is the best my trim and tires have looked since I have bought it. not sure why, maybe the clarity and thickness ? my tires and trim have taken on a new look as you can see and appreciate the texture of them.
2 weeks in and still happy with the looks and protection of the product. looks like the day I put it on .
3. Color and richness of tires/trim after each wash. How much did the color/richness fade?
have washed my truck twice in the 2 weeks the sealant was on the tires and trim. we have also had around 3 inches of rain. the trim and tires look the same. cool to see the stuff beading like crazy.
4. If car is exposed to the elements, how many weeks did Tire & Trim Sealant last (keep trim looking good)?
so far only a few days in but with the rain we have I feel that the product has been subjected to a lot more of the elements than the hours would indicate.have driven a lot through puddles and on the highway.the trim and tires look exactly the same as before. wanted to get my thoughts posted as I am sure people are interested in the original findings. loved the beading after heavy rain. will add to this review from time to time
I am at 2 weeks and nothing has changed
5. What would you like to see changed to make RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel better?
to be honest, no joke, I would not change anything at this point. been very pleased with the results so far . trying to be as objective as I can and not sound too positive here, hope that is how it sounds. here are a few pics of the goods after some very heavy rain. this product has been a joy to work with and I have never used anything like it. on to the pics, hope they do the product justice. at least for the beading ! http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...-20-060006.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h8...-20-060004.jpg

1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply? - Easy enough for a gel; had to work into the bumps and ridges to get even coverage. Personally, I prefer a spray dressing.
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product? The appearance is similar to Grape Tire Dressing, which I like (and can no longer get here in California).
3. Color and richness of tires/trim after each wash. How much did the color/richness fade? - The tire was still dark but the sheen was gone; it looked like a clean tire but not a dressed one. The trim was still dark with a nice though diminished satin sheen. The T&T sealant still looked good on the trim but it needed to be re-applied to the tires.
4. If car is exposed to the elements, how many weeks did Tire & Trim Sealant last (keep trim looking good)? N/A - See above.
5. What would you like to see changed to make RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel better? I personally prefer a spray application, but that's just me. Other than that the initial appearance is very nice but doesn't hold up well on tires. The appearance on the trim after a wash was acceptable but not on the tires (the appearance on the tires actually started to diminish at day 3 for me). I had to re-apply T&T on the tires to achieve the appearance I prefer.

1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply?
Applied on tires with my tire wipe. Also had to take the effort to go over/into the ridges and bumps/grooves of the tire. Not as user friendly as a sprayable kind.
On the trims, the gel is thinner than I thought and a little went an extremely long way. Big difference compared to applying it to the tire as this was very easy to spread.
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product?
I really like the color on the trim. It is very "satin" like a new car look. Prefer it to Poorboys (my current goto). The trim color darkened back to what I think it look like when new. Now the tires actually looked satin/glossy - great how one product gives two different looks. I prefer gloss so did not do a wipedown. It saturated and was dry to the toch when I came out to inspect it a hour later. Looked glossy but new? Prefer the look to PB BnB. A tad less shiny than DG tire shine.
3. Color and richness of tires/trim after each wash. How much did the color/richness fade?
Have not had a chance to wash since the application. will add to this post when I do
4. If car is exposed to the elements, how many weeks did Tire & Trim Sealant last (keep trim looking good)?
Will update.
5. What would you like to see changed to make RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel better?
I really am pleased with the product. Very creamy, yet not really thick - less thick than a hand creme. The only thing so far that I would like changed is the spreadability/ease of application on the tires (was quite slow inefficient compared to Poorboys for example).

Join Date: Mar 2001 Location: NJ Posts: 3,207 | I used the Tire Sealant on Saturday. I scrubbed and washed the tires with Sonus wheel cleaner and applied with dressing while the tires were still very slightly wet (typically aids in a smoother application).
1. How easy/difficult is RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel to apply? I am more used to liquid spray products, but the gel seemed difficult to spread around and get coverage on raised lettering on the sidewall. Formula is thick and "sticky"? I feel like I used a lot of product for one application.
2. How do your tires/trim look with RDF Tire & Trim Sealant Gel compared to you favorite product? Look is good. After application the tires look wet and glossy like a silicone dressing. It dries to more of a shiny satin finish and makes the tires look very BLACK. After a few hours the tire sealant was completely dry to the touch.
More on this after I wash the car this coming weekend.

Sorry they didn't come out to good in the dark with a flash, but the tires are glossy and BLACK after 2 days of driving. I will try to take some in the daylight tomorrow...

they look exactly like the gloss on mine. The great thing about them is it is dry to the touch (really). I tried to smear it today, and it did not. Unlike my megs which still smears after a week. The durability and freshly applied look is still strong after serveral days (better than PB BnB).

Tomorrow I will have pictures in the sun, but after driving through rain and snow for 4 days and puddles...After an ONR wash today and using ONR on the tires, they all look the exact same...amazing. The tire I dressed last week has still not lost it's look! | |
