Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

There is not a garage at my house, so my car is an outside dog. I would love to try UPGP, but I am unsure if it would work if the car sits outside during the cure time. Can anyone here advise me on this? Should I put it on in the late afternoon so it can cure out of the sun during the evening?

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

Works fine. Gotta be careful for multiple coats though.

Can you elaborate on that for me?

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

Sure. The vehicle is clean for the first app. After 12 hours sitting outside, well, it isn't so clean. Therein lies the issue.

Gotta clean it between coats.

Anyone have any advice here?

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

That is what I was concerned about. Do I need to rewash it every 12 hours before I reapply, or would a OID wipedown work.

Thanks for any advice and help.

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

Hmm...Thats one reason Ive held off on buying this product. It seems you need 3 coats to get the desired look. Which is 3 days

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

why risk swirls with the QD?

just add the second layer after the next time you wash it

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

It is the single greatest disadvantage of the product. ONR is a great answer too.

I don't know about a QD. I might try it on the right color. where minor swirling isn't an issue, but only with the FK QD.

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

I have 2 coats on the car now and this stuff is no joke. I have never seen my car look this reflective. Does it keep improving the more you layer it?

Re: Cure Accelerator for UPGP

lets say you apply around 5p on a friday. you can then reapply in the morning saturday. even if you drive and need a quick spritz so be it. then apply another coat sunday. i agree that 3 is the magic number although i do mix a dwg in there sometimes--haven't figured out the absolute right combo of dwg>upgp>dwg or upgp>dwg>upgp>dwg....you get the picture.

the stuff is awesome and i have a skeptical eye on all these "wonder products."

of course this comes into play if you garage the vehicle.

one thing that confuses me is that upgp supposedly has a polycharger in it. doesn't that speed up the cure time?

took a chance with danase sealant as it claims an instant cure. i'll try a couple of coats of it and see how it compares. curious if it looks anything like the dwg. if so, we might have a more durable/easier to layer winner.

it's the constant experimentation that keeps me glued to detailing.

As far as I understand UPGP is polycharger in its purest form.
