Ultima Detailing Package

I have a black 2004 MB with swirls. Not bad but enough to annoy me during the summer months. I was wondering how difficult it is to polish my car isng the new Ultimate detail polisher system?

Is it "dangerous" for a newbie to attempt this? What are the chances of me making the finsih worse, burning it or causing other damage?

Any tips if i do decide to try it?

Hey!

I can't speak for your depth of swirling, but using Ultima is a snap. I started with a PC, a couple of orange EDGE 2000 pads, and the Ultima system and ti worked well on a Lexus LS430. For six month results check out the link.

Make sure you wash and clay the finish first.

My main concern is that MB uses really hard paint and that you won't be able to knock out the swirls with Ultima PPP. You may want to consider Menzerna SIP and or 106ff. If you are using a PC it will require a good many slow passes before you break the polishes down. Use a halogen light to aid you in your work.

Anyone else?

Re: Ultima Detailing Package

Ultima is very easy to use and also very safe. When it comes to the Ultima Paint Prep Plus you can remover swirl but if it is severe you may need to hit it with the Sonus SFX-1 followed by the Ultima Paint Prep Plus. Always try your least aggressive first though and only step up if needed.

The key to remember is more is not better when using the Ultima Paint Prep Plus. You only need a few pea size dabs on the DAS Swirlbuster Pad to cut the swirl. For those who couldn't cut the swirl, try cutting down on the amount used, I am sure you will find a big improvement in the swirl removal ability.
