Layering

Can someone absolutely confirm layering with polycharger.

i've searched extensively on the www and have found varying levels of opinions/facts about this.

like zfx for zai no, if you use polycharger with a product like four* UPP can you layer on the same day? is there a waiting time, or can you do it immediately after you do the first layer?

it seems there is a ton of confusion about this out there and i would love to clear it up once and for all.

i understand the curing vs. drying aspects of the process, so i guess what i am looking for is a comparison of PC to zfx in how they work. it seems by reading the technical aspects of PC, it should enable you to layer but i am curious as to the speed in which you can layer. i hope that it does speed that process up as does zfx otherwise it would seem like i wasted a bit of money.

thanks in advance

Re: Layering

Yes you should wait for 12 hours between layers to make sure it is thoroughly cured. It won't hurt anything not to wait but you won't get your best results and protection.

Re: Layering

You have to factor in the product that Polycharger is being added to. If the product has abrasives or cleaners then true layering will not occur. If the product is a wax then it depends on the strength of the solvents used. I would think that polycharger would provide layering with true sealants after curing(Klasse SG, JWAJ, DG 111, AW, 4 star UPP).

Re: Layering

so i think i wasted my money then...if i have to wait 12 hours...thats the same as just letting the sealent cure on its own. so i dont see how polycharger can claim it accelerates cross-linking?? which is the reason i bought it.

i understand the increased durability claim with polycharger, but honestly i dont mind sealing my car every month (so extending the protection is meaningless to me because i do seal so frequently), what i do mind is having to wait 12 hours to layer, which is why i like zaino. youre never going to get full coverage with just one layer. at least i dont, i always seem to miss a spot.

not that i know if zfx can prove its claim either but at least there is a stated benefit to zfx allowing up to 3 layers in a day.

Re: Layering

i got an answer from polycharger. now this relates only to 4* UPP. it does indeed decrease the drying time so you can layer faster. they said give it about 6 hours to be safe, i may see what happens after 3 hours.

but at least i got a definite answer from the manufacturer
